How good are they?
|
|
I use one and find them to be really good..
|
|
Used them for a while and found them ok but find conventional tees the way to go.

No good. The fibres of the “brush” get bent in your pocket or in your bag and then the ball won’t sit on them !

7cm white tees. Cant beat em.

personally i dont like them – too much of a pain to get the ball to sit properly

Agree with SJGC and Overpar but if you like keep on using.
No matter how bad your game it is always possible to get better or worse |

SJGC- I think you’ll find that if you keep the brush tee in the protective case they come with when your not using it the ‘brushes’ stay in perfect formation for a long time. Mr Consistency- thanks for your two cents of input… probably the same it’ll cost for a bag of those 7cm crappy white tees you speak off. Overpar- C’mon thats a bit of a weak excuse, i find them very easy to place the ball on… but i do have my eyes open when doing so.. And finally Muggins- I WILL!

Sounds like you knew the answer before you asked the question

Was just after other peoples opinions angler matey…. just cause i never planned to take notice of what others said is besides the point… but thanks for the reply anyway.

What’s wrong with “7 cm crappy white tees” ? Isn’t the idea to get the ball the right distance off the teeing box with as little fuss as possible? I find those nice long tees don’t break very often so what’s the problem? Not sure i could be even vaguely interested in punting a tee back into a protective case every time I use it.

Nah you see muntz, more bristles equals more spin, fade, draw, stop, roll, compression, distance and a better swing plane.. I reckon I’de lose the brush tee before I lost/broke 100 wooden tees and at $5 for 100 of em from Kmart they work for me. Put all comes down to preferences at the end of the day I guess.

A better swing plane? Sign me up, I want one of those.

Too much muckin around to get the ball to balance. You almost need to put the tee in the ground perfectly vertical or the ball wont sit or topple off half way thru your backswing …........nah.

Fella’s…i cannot believe we are talking about a tee? Yes, it helps with a tee for the driver (your standard wooden one for example) If you want to learn how to flush it better with you 3 wood/long irons, do not use a tee! Find the spot in your swing where your club hits the ground of all things. I personally cannot remember the last time i hit a 5 iron to wedge off a par 3 with a tee?
You are kidding yourself if you think you can make it without hard-work. |
|
I find brush tee’s great at the driving range as once they are in the ground they rarely come out and need resetting…..saves chasing wooden or plastic tee’s after every hit.

Tai, can you take it easy on the rest of us hackers? I get plenty (too many) chances to hit clubs off the deck during a round. If I can add a bit of extra tolerance for error by hitting off a tee, I’m never going to pass that up. Mind you, I’m teeing the ball lower with most clubs now that I’ve been practicing the workshop lessons.

Muntz,

Tai, I’m sure many golfers tee the ball up too high when hitting irons off the tee. BUT giving up tees altogether…..madness. A ball teed low on a par 3 gives you an advantage in that you’re giving yourself the perfect lie. I can’t remember Tiger or any other pro golfer not using a tee on a par 3.

WTF ? Who the hell could be f#cked using a protective case for a tee ? Only if you have obsessive compulsive disorder.
|
|
I see your point SJGC…. the two seconds it takes to put the brush tee in its case is far better spent searching the tee block for your missing tee, or just as common searching through your bag for another tee after the last one has snapped….

Don’t really have an opinion either way here as I have never used a brush tee. But SGJC, do you not put the cover back on your driver or putter after you have used it. I suppose it is just one more phase for protecting equipment for those that want to use them.

I concur. I’d hate to be in charge of marketing this product. Perhaps if Tiger started using a brush tee, that might just cause the demise of the wooden tee. I don’t reckon you could pay Tiger enough money to use one though.

davego – I am happy to put a cover on my $500 driver or my $200 putter, but not a freakin’ $3.50 tee. Jesus wept ! That is one of the nuttiest things I have heard of ! If I saw one of our members doing that, he would get a bollocking from his playing partners and be forced to buy the first round of drinks for being such a fruitcake. C’mon ! Just buy a packet of cheap wooden pegs and put half a dozen in your pocket like everyone else.

As I said before SJGC, I don’t have an opinion either way. This appears to be a piece of equipment that Chris1 is fond of and by all appearances HE is prepared to put it back to bed after each shot. I was simply trying to point out that you protect your equipment as does he. I couldn’t give a flying whether he uses a brush, bush, twig, branch or a tree.. haha …tee.. Geez people get antsy in this place sometimes.
