thanks so far.. we pay $5.00 for 2 ntp’s,ball comp,& comp prizes far too cheap for my liking. what about balls you win in ball comp do you all get say a $4.00 pill or credit in the shop/club or better? or just get credit ie: no pills given out?

I think the question should be extended to what do you receive for your comp fees. My club returns approximately half of the comp fees to players. $6 comp fee on Saturday $5 mid week. On Saturday we have 4 grades men and one ladies grade. Winners & runners up receive goods vouchers & a ball for NTP, Longest Drive, Pro’s Approach for all grades. Ball run down to 15 players & of course eagles nest.

Ouch ! We’ve got it easy….$3 every day for ball comps, that includes NTP, long drives, eagles nest, (and $30 voucher for winner and $20 proshop voucher for runner up on Saturdays), the lot. About half the field on a Wed or Thurs gets a ball back in the ball rundown. Balls are usually middle of the road – eg TopFlite D2’s or Wilsons.

geez i pay $15 per comp at my track day in day out. For some visitor rates i pay up to $27, and its not even that good of a course. I gather you membership rates must be higher, as mine are around $550 p yr

$9.00 plus a voluntary $1.00 which goes into a jackpot that players that beat the pro or trainee pro’s nett score on the day (for instance, 99 out of 135 players put in on Wednesday, Pro had 41 points and 3 people split the $99). We also get a jug of beer for every birdie scored on Par 3’s.

what sort of memberships do you guys pay?

My subs are about $1300 per year. Comp fees are generally $5 most days which includes 1 NTP – no ball run, eagles nest or anything else. Medal days and back tee challenge days comp fees are $10 plus an optional $1 for an NTP jackpot. Joining Fee is the killer $10,000…. Ridiculous !!

My comp fees - $100 anuual which is built into the membership fee. Therefore, no comp fees ever paid on any day. Includes, $50 comp winner vouchers, balls, NTP etc … Very good value if you play regularly, not so good if you play once a month!

Yearly membership fee: $305.00 Comp fee: $4.00 (Saturdays and Thursdays) Prizes: $20 voucher for each of A, B and C grade in singles events, winners only (2 x $20) vouchers in pairs events Nearest the Pin: glass or mug on two holes (can be traded for ProV1 ball) Ball comp: top 25% of field including winners (cheaper distance or soft balls) Eagles nest: locally sponsored, minimum 3 balls, jackpots by one ball per week. Longest drive: only in special tournament events Pretty cheap, pretty low returns.

$4 and $2 for the days I play.

My membership is $2000 per year, and as I said before $6.50 comp fee. In my membership I get unlimited golf, free use of the driving range and practice greens, a Club car cart for every round and 15% discount on food and drinks in the club house. I personally think it’s a bargain.

|
$5 a throw, but come 2009, all comp fees will be included within our subs. That includes NTPs and Eagles Nests. Currently we pay for range balls and carts. Pull buggies are free. And we get a 10% discount on purchases, food, drink, lessons, etc.

Only way to go. All clubs should adopt this method of paying up front. Takes all the hassle out of admin and collection duties and if you are a regular player you benefit value wise. I haven’t paid a comp fee for years & years.
