Southern Golf Club

Southern golf club is offering twighlight membership of 3-5 month duration, meaning play after 3pm or something. What do people think of the course, and the deal as a means of entry into the membership eventually? Is it a hard club to get membership into?

Sounds like an interesting offer. Do you know what the costs are and is it valid 7 days a week or just Mon-Fri.

Currently looking at joining club.

It’s amazing how some clubs are more than helpful, send out info, keen to get you down to have a round and meet members but then others (perhaps the one I favour the most) dont returncalls or reply to email and have little interest in talking to you on the phone.

Agree, the ‘second’ tier clubs are most helpful whilst the others need to lift their game. Snobbish is one word that comes to mind.

"Golf is played between the ears"

i think its a fanastic course very challanging!

Best Course in Melbourne for all round enjoyment:

1) Under rated layout 2) Best Clubhouse in Melb 3) Awesome members 4) Cheap beer

Easy to join and the timesheets always have space for a game

Other snobs here will say Spring Valley or Woodlands are better…but

1) More expensive joining fees 2) Courses are no better than Southern 3) Waitlists to get 7 day membership

I only post here when the other site gets quiet...

what’s the joining fee?

Best Clubhouse in Melb 3)

Proudly Taking Bogan Golf to the Real People

Spring valley has the nicest clubhouse of all three.

Yes, “awesome” is a word I would use to describe my fellow members. I saw it referred to as “Animal Farm” on another thread. Perhaps that is linked to the Cheap Beer at SGC.

what’s the joining fee?

Top 10 on the PGA Tour ISG Money List.

$3k I believe

Springvalley paid somthing like 6mil for their clubhouse and includes a gym underground. Southern upgraded nearly the same time and paid over 7mil, but no gym. Southern is great now, the clubhoouse is centered between the 2 nines, as oppose to the old layout they had a since a couple years ago.
