Don’t know if you can call it a choke, but he should be propping up the bar with a belly full of piss as I type. Not good enough when it mattered unfortunately. What’s worse is another god-botherer finished over the top of him.

agree with the god bothering comment dan. but the worrying sign of our blokes choking in the last rounds is a major worry. just off the top of my head we’ve had badds asking too much of the good lord & not hitting golf shots himself, apples crash & burn last week & now greeny not getting it done on sunday & thats 3 in the past month. i may be wrong but didnt scotty choke a week b4 the us open as well so that makes 4 out of 5 weeks ? maybe time for government investigation?

my definition of a choke is not playing as well as the 3 days before ….maybe due to the pressure of actually being in the hunt! agree you have got to learn how to play & control your emotions when in the situation but if you shoot 67,63,68 then a 71 just does not cut it in the big league! all i’m saying is our boys haven’t been finishing the tournys off hence the word ‘choke’

He had 3 bogeys in a round that should have seen him cruise to victory. Not a choke of Appleby’s magnitude, but he should have been in the running down the stretch. Is it better to lose when a bloke shoots a 66 to finish over the top of you? I’d say not.

You have to remember this is their bread and butter, they are professionals, they have sports psychologists, trainers etc to prepare them for this. In addition, also the burning desire to win and be competitive. 3rd is OK.. However, he is 32 years old, he has been around for a while.. I like the guy, but this seems to be happening to the Aussies for the past month….
