Im a Member and often can never get a game

Anyone else paying a fairly large chunk of money to be a member and nearly every week the booking sheet is full for 7 -8 hrs a day with visiting social groups and Corporate days. So there is no chance of having that leisurely nine holes on non comp days .

I know clubs need some extra cash but its getting worse.

Im the other Tom Watson and I once got a Bronze Medallion Lifesaving Certificate whilst wearing striped pyjamas.

Where you a member?

Seems a busy ‘corporate’ time to me too, quite a few course closed days unless 7am or 5pm,,,,

What is this golf game you talk of?

A beacy hills , the early slots generally fill up quick , with membership at $1079 for 12 months and no joining fees, the secret is well and truly out and we re finding it hard to keep a lid on it.

Im going to Beachy Hills then as it cost me several grand joining and is now nearly three grand a year

For my $780 p.a. I can play any time, day or night, without booking.

Ok, the quality is not the same as Tommy’s $3K course, but it’s still playable.

I pay no annual fees, only travel costs, and can play pretty much any course nationally at night with of course no booking needed! ;).

This was the reason I left my old club in Sydney, had a relative visit from interstate and rocked on down the club on a sunday morning where I was a member but told course booked for social clubs, fine we will wait a while but when no groups appeared after 30 minutes asked in pro shop if ok to hit off but told “no course is booked out” but not a soul there, after a discussion which may have got a little heated the pro was given my members badge in a “thrown” manner and told to insert it in his rear. Three weeks later was interviewed and accepted to join Pennant Hills golf club where I stayed for many years before moving to Qld.

Certainly needs to be a balance between attracting social players to keep the fees down and prioritising members rights. Ultimately we are the lifeblood of the club, without us there is NOTHING

The club tells me I can still play if I tee off at 6.30am. And be off the course by 8am. Oh yeah, who am. I Usain Bolt wearing a miners helmet so I can see the all at 6.30am during a 90 min round…....Ididots.

You don’t have to wait for an invite from OB Tommy it’s a public course up past Puffing Billy at Emerald. Take a tip though, take a motorised buggy or a sherpa.

Hi, my name is Steve & I’m a golfaholic, I even go to the meetings

Tommy, I play with Olinda club at Emerald.

No, you don’t need a Sherpa. It’s no where near as physically demanding as Olinda was. But I’ll admit that I still use an electric buggy.

If interested, check out our web site and come up and see us.

booked in this morning for comp start at Dorset tomorrow, no probs…......

is it fair on the club and the pro shop staff when you rock up and are wanting to have a hit on the day without making a tee time fist

yes your membership states you have full playing rights if you are a full seven day member but that doesnt mean you can just rock up and play

surely your club has the timesheets out 1-2 weeks prior to give you an oppurtunity

Also maybe worth having a talk to some of your members and see how happy they are and maybe looking at getting a section of the tee times closed just for members between say 11am and 14.00

that will give the social groups time to get a round then members and then after that green fee players

at my club we have a members section on sunday however the rest of the day is open for social groups and green fee players and members

but lets be fair as well to our club becuase if you havent made a booking and ya just rock up expecting ya can hardly blame the club for saying sorry guys but all bookings have taken up but if ya had of called up an hour ago we had a 4 spots left everything possibly could be sweet

One should always join a club with 2 or more courses !
Unless you want to rub shoulders with members of elite sand belt clubs.
Also those sand belt golf members are members of another club. eg. National, woodlands, etc.

Apparingly at K H, you just turn up and join the next 3 golfers and tee off.
