How is Heidelberg looking right now? Due to play there for Pennant soon and I heard a rumour that one of the tee’s is a practice mat. Not sure if that is due to remodelling or just poor condition. Would like to know a bit more as I’ve been keen to have a hit there for awhile

True on the temp tee.

They have built a new green for the par 3 6th. Currently out of play.

The par 4 7th now playing as a par 3 (6th on the card).
8th=7th, 9th=8th.

The old 10th now plays as the 9th, and doglegs left instead of right.

You go back to the old dogleg right and play a par 3 off a mat to the old 10th green – about 95m.

Rest of the course unchanged.

Plenty of grass on the fairways and greens – probably to protect them from the recent heat.

Prepared for pennant, I reckon it will come up fine.

Very happy at Eastwood, but the travel to and from work is starting to take its toll.
Going to be moving closer to work both for me and the missus.
Tossing up between Rosanna and Heidelberg.
Played rosanna yesterday, and was a bit dissapointed actually. Played with a Director, and the greens were a bit ordinary. Played 14 holes. Fairways were very straggly, 2 or 3 different grasses.

Went for another look at Heidelberg today, just s walk around the clubhouse, a look at a few close holes. Really looks good

Trial 9 holes on Monday arvo, see what happens.

My only comment about Rosanna vs Heidelberg Rob would be to consider how good Rosanna was in Winter.

Heidelberg drowns in mud during a wet Winter.

Having played Rosanna the other day, even if it was the driest course in VIC I would struggle to play there week week out, woolly fairways, bumpy greens and ordinary pro shop/club house.

Will be interesting to check out Heidelberg tomorrow.

On another note I played Yarra Bend all last winter in one of our wettest winters yet and I never found it unplayable, surely a private course will be better??

I would recommend Rosanna after being a member at both.

I’d clearly be another vote for Rosanna over Heidelberg.

Played both quite a bit. Rosanna is my preference, even though Heidelberg has some terrific holes. Rosanna is better presented and is playable 12 months of the year….and if you’re paying to play 52 weeks of the year, you would like to have that opportunity regardless of the weather.

I was at Box Hill for Pennant yesterday, it was in magnificent condition, and at $2500 a year (includes $200 bar levy) its cheaper than Heidelberg (not sure about Rosanna’s fee’s). If its close enough id consider it before either of the others.

Introductory 6 day membership at Heidelberg costs $88 month, Box Hill cant get near that.

$88 a month is good, but after the 6 months it goes to full fee’s yeah?
Having played both in the last 12 months, id still choose Box Hill, but it also depends on how far you have to travel I guess.

Nope that’s for 12 months then you get a further 12 months at $102 a month before you have to join as a full member.
