I was marshalling at a tournament on a hole where Allenby blocked a shot into the trees and then proceeded to head down the fairway and tear strips off the spotter for not being able to miraculously find his ball.

He quickly shut up though when the said spotter, who was a police officer, told him if he kept it up he better have a golf club in hand.

Happened before my very eyes.

He played poorly again today.

Just saw he’s got a start in the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill event starting March 21.

Stuart Appleby’s not doing much better this year, last year he made 13/24 cuts, and he earnt $378,000.
Robert Allenby made 12/27 cuts last year but due to 2 top 10s including a 2nd place he earnt $808,000.

Both have the same $26mil career earnings though. Nice.

2013 so far:
Allenby, 6 events, 5 cuts missed, $0
Appleby, 5 events, 2 missed cuts, $38,471

Know first hand from the volunteer who told him where to go about his lost ball story, so I guess whoever repeated it here was telling the truth as well.
To me he’s very much like Ian Poulter in his manners.It’s just that Poulter normally keeps that side of his nature far better hidden and channels his angst into good performances . Don’t know why Allenby can’t sort it out but he certainly wouldn’t be the first.

If I had a quarter of the career he had and also contributed to charity like he has, I would be a somewhat happier. He is a miserable twat. You would think that after all the exposure he has had with cancer sufferers through his charity, he would get some perspective. He moans about everything. I think that is what gets me.
