I guess the thing about this is that on any given day any of these players can beat another over 18 holes.

As the article suggests that is both the strength and the weakness of the event. The best player does not always win over 18 holes but that is golf.

The strength is that it makes for upsets and that makes for intriguing viewing.

Since it was first played in 1999 when Jeff Maggert and Andrew Magee played the final, the event has certainly come a long way.
