Your reporter on the ground checking in for duty sir. I spotted Raz this morning but he tore off like a jack rabbit to get to the best vantage point after Cam Smith’s drive on 1. Young Smith wearing light coloured pants and a black jumper with an Australian flag logo on the back, took fairway wood off the tee. Where I was standing I couldn’t see how it went. He didn’t swear so it must have been sweet. The first is a tight 314m par 4 with a slight dog leg right. A few of the boys pushed their drives right, I cannot report yet how dead a pushed drive was. Bradley Hughes also took fairway wood, his ground forces looked superb. Dressed in all black, Hughes looked mean and means business. Big Adam Bland crunched driver and has a simply majestic left handed swing. the 10th is a very spectacular looking par 5, dog leg right with a green that is elevated what looks like 30m from a gully about 100m from the tee.

The wind has picked up to I reckon over 15 knots, bear in mind I have no idea how to measure or guess wind speed. and T-Mac gave me a bottle of water out of the pros drink bin, happy days definitely a high chance of rain today too

So far I have walked 15 holes with the MacDonald, Muir and Campbell group. I too like Muir, very good demeanor about him. the thing that struck me is the detail they put into their yardage and it pays off. I want to use “as big as Oprah’s appetite” somewhere today, I hope I do. Ooh ooh, one bloke in the group behind just hit one as big as Oprah’s appetite. wind still blowing about 13-14 knots. decisions need to be made, bail after 9 and drive home to play the chook run at Piney or stay for the last 9??

Caught up with a jubilant Razaar and Des following a red hot Cam Smith sitting 7 under for the day with 2 holes to go. And a correction to my earlier post, Cam is wearing beige pants
