Another result of the committee meeting in November. N graders become A, B or C after their 3rd game. There are only 4 N graders in the field for SL – and 3 “graduates” to the main field – Hotfuzz in A grade off 12, Rawdon in C grade off 23, and Sarg in C grade off 33. Nello will likely join them after SL as this is his third game with us. I keep them like a proper golf link – so they get re-handicapped accordingly…just like everyone else. Thanks to OOMBet for the vote of confidence but I believe the punters are being led astray. Let me explain: I did have a great run towards the end of 2012, however, all good things must come to an end – and trust me, they have. Since popping my OOM cherry at Curlewis I haven’t played to my handicap. In recent times I have contracted a bad case of the shanks (HP, Kiwi and Frank) can confirm this. They (shanks) have made regular appearances in my recent rounds to such an extent that my golfing buddies pitched in and brought me a new head-cover for my driver. The head-cover is a larger than life character called a ‘Shankapotamus’. As a warm up to Sanctuary Lakes I am playing in the Vic Open Pro-Am on Wednesday down at 13th Beach. I will be introducing Shankapotamus to the Pro I am playing with on the first hole and telling him where to stand – I couldn’t live with myself if he didn’t make it to the first round on Thursday. So there you have it, straight from the Shankapotamus’ mouth, place your bets wisely. :) The only way to find out a man’s true character is see how he reacts when a shanked ball is coming at him.
