Re Phil Mickelsons wedge:
“that 60 degree looks more like 62”
How good is he?

“If God didn’t want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?”

Miller is the best. Nobody else could tell the difference.

Brilliant.

Much better than the fool on Cahnnel 2 yesterday who was all hot and bothered when Karrie Webb won. I think he said- ‘she is irresistable and irrepressible.’ WTF?

Made me think Luke Elvy wasn’t so bad anymore.

He is the best. Just ask him.

“The ball had no spin and just fell out of the sky” is another Johnny gem:)

Totally ignorant about almost everything except golf.

I reckon he has to be taking the piss. No one could say some of the things he does and be serious.

Surely :-)

“If God didn’t want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?”

he can…because he is Johnny

taking…or on…?

People give him a hard time but seriosuly the crap that comes out of his mouth is very entertaining.

Johny “The trap draw” “Cut Punch” Miller

Yeah the guy did alright on course for a few years but only in America can you his type be “let go”. It must be a G up by the TV execs…...Lets wind him up and elt him go…....and snicker behind his back.

Besides his comment on Paz a few years back at Doral I don’t mind listening to the dribble…...some of it is hilariously stupid….and most of it is big noting hyimself at the same time.

Miller is a Legend….......

hes a tool enough said

typical yank who has retired, gotten fat from eating chips all day and thinks everyone should play like him

Golf is only a game…Yeah right who are you kidding?

Bit harsh, he won a few Major Trophies against some quality fields back in the day.

Doesn’t mean he is not a ‘tool’ !

A Major Tool

There are two types of people in this world. Those that can extrapolate from incomplete data….

I don’t mind him. He doesn’t blow smoke up the players’ arse and will be critical when it is appropriate. Most of the BS is when his fellow commentators are sucking up to him.

Watch any US Open at Oakmont and get the Johnny Miller drinking game going.

The best golf commentator by a mile

Miller was/is regarded as one of the greatest iron players of all time. He used to shoot low 60’s very often, putting was his achilles heel. Knock his commentary all you want but in his prime he would of smoked 99% of todays players

Practice hitting golf shots, don’t just practice hitting golf balls

Read Ben Hogan’s 5 Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf until your eyes are sore and your head hurts, then read it again and again! It’s ALL there………..

And never shy either. Read this extract from an interview he did…..hillarious….only in the THE USA!

In an interview with Golf Magazine, NBC analyst Johnny Miller said that he once was asked to coach Tiger Woods, but declined the job to focus on his TV work and spend time with his family.

According to the story, which will be released in its October issue, Miller said, “Not many people know this, but when Tiger had been on Tour for two or three years, his people called and asked if I would give him lessons on short irons. Jack Nicklaus told him I was the best short iron play ever—a pretty great compliment.”

Like he wouldn’t have done it if it was legit….someone with an ego his size would have jumped at the opportunity to work with TW!

Sure he has a very sour mouth but he is a fantastic analyst, overall I don’t mind listening to him.

Flog.

Big call.. a British and a US Open to his name, you would think the way he carries on he would have won alot more. You dont see the other “Greats” of his era carry on the way he does. Biggest toss, up there with Mundine

azza82 Miller won 32 tournaments against quality players.
Find footage of him in his prime he would towel up most players these days he could go low!

This article pretty much sums up Miller’s career as a golfer. It is important to note that Miller’s game dropped off as he approached his mid 30’s when some athleticism is replaced by strength. The same thing happened to Nicklaus and to Tiger and to Tom Watson (to a degree).

Totally ignorant about almost everything except golf.
