Driving to the Gold Coast, no way, Coffs is OK, albeit too far for me. You are on a golf website, so presume all are competent golfers. I reckon you have the Newcastle option and the Canberra option, will be a bit tricky over a holiday weekend getting tee times. Newcastle: drive up early Good Friday morning to avoid the traffic, try and play Newcastle, stay in Nelson/Shoal Bay. 2nd day (Saturday), play Pacific Dunes. Sunday, depending on golf standard, either play Nelson Bay or head over to The Vintage, early round. Stay Sunday night near Belmont, play Belmont on the Monday early, in the car by lunch time, home. Magenta is another option for the Sunday night. Canberra, organise Royal, Federal, Gungahlin, Gold Creek, depending on availability, stay in Moss Vale on Sunday night, early tee off at Mt Broughton on Monday, home. Far simpler to fly to the GC, tell these blokes http://paradisegolftours.co...

Gday Depending if you want quality and your budget of course there is an option of traveling up the central coast.. There is 4 courses that are not far away .. Its only about an hour away Kooindah Waters Also I dont know your age range so if your young and looking for some nightlife I think you would struggle around those golf courses..

The South Coast. Mollymook (Hilltop). All worth a hit.

MJ, Check out the thread over in “Your favourite golf courses” section, regarding Gold Coast Golf courses. I think from memory it’s now on about page 3 of the Favourites section. Baz and his mates have played em all, and he’s reviewed and rated each of them, so you’ll get a good idea of what courses are worth playing, aside from Hope Island (which is a bloody good course).

This one sounds awesome: Newcastle: drive up early Good Friday morning to avoid the traffic, try and play Newcastle, stay in Nelson/Shoal Bay. Seriously considering it, if the Wife might let me…. . Newcastle, Pacific Dunes, The Vimtage, Magenta Shores….that’s four days well spent…
Tramps like us, baby we were born to run. |

will make a difference if you are all card carrying members of a club as many course have big events on at easter. Forward planning could get you a game in most of them. I hate travelling at Easter, worst time to go anywhere, particularly by road
