Hey guys sorry for the late reply (blame homelinx the only Internet provider in wentworth point) I had a hit the other day with my brother and mate at Liverpool and like you guys said its a great course although I have decided to joing Cumberland. I really enjoyed Liverpool and will have a few game in the open comp but have decide Cumberland is a little closer to my place and could get there after work ect for a game during the week ect where Liverpool would be pushing it. Thanks guys or all the help organising a game for me and once I get my handicap if you would like a hit I would be more than great full and I could get you a beer that I owe you :) I have my meeting on Friday to pay my fees ect however ill be away down the coast this weekend but with all luck ill be booked in for the following Saturday to play my first comp game. It’s a bit nerve racking finally getting to play comp but I just can’t wait. Stay tuned ill be sure to give an update.

haahahah Thanks leftfoot sounds good to me. Will they let me play comp after I go to the meeting tomorrow or will I have to wait till after the board meeting at the end of the month? I was told that on the phone but when I put my form in last weekend they asked me to come in on Friday for a meeting so I am a little confused how it works.

No worries. I hope you enjoy your golf at Cumberland – you could certainly do a lot worse. No that you’ve taken out membership at a club, you’ll inevitably find yourself playing a lot more, getting a lot better, and becoming a lot more serious about the game – all awesome things:). I love the opening hole at Cumberland – the play should be a long iron off the tee for safety, but I took driver when I played it and bounced it off that little hill left and front of the green. Very tempting to load up and try drive the green on the opening hole. The 3rd is an awesome long par 3, and I remember a few of the par 5s there being quite nice. Enjoy it mate.

To be honest I don’t remember the process. The meeting is just to inform you of no slow play and basic etiquette etc. I think you should be able to join up after the meeting and be a fully fledged member. (That’s after you go through the initiation of swearing an oath over the Bible whilst standing on one leg and doing the chicken dance to Justin Bieber music) ;)
