Not at all Fuzzy 1. I quite like the course. Friend of mine is a member there and talks it up all the time. (Still waiting for an invite mind you…lol.) My wifes Uncle was a member there for many years but has given it away now due to back probs, played with him there a few times and that stretch home got me every time.

SAF was looking for options, I am just throwing a few out there for him. I was not aware of the reno’s being conducted at New Brighton, and yes that would impact on joining in the short term, but it is a good course and I thought as it is close by why not have a look in. If he didn’t like Strathfield due to his inability to speak fluent Korean, then that was my thoughts for why he may not like Carnarvon and Carnarvon may not have the water of Liverpool, but it is every bit as well maintained if not better.

Everyone talks up their home course and good on you for doing it. Mind you, also looks from some other posts you have made in other areas, once you have reached that magic age of 31, you also have indicated you may bail out due to the $$$ factor.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish…..

That was before a my latest pay bump:). we’re about to take on a mortgage too and are trying for kids, so will have to see. But my Wife is very cool with the at times ridiculous amount I spend on golf. Anyway, even at full price Livo is really well-priced I reckon. New Brighton reno’s have been on the cards for ages – they sold a chunk of land to a developer for housing – Mirvac, I think. As I said, I like New Brighton too, just rate Liverpool higher. How’s membership at Cumberland? Quite liked the course out there – 3rd hole is a good 3…

I have been looking for ages to join a course almost joined last weekend at strathfield but went to the meeting and I know that wasn’t the place for me….my Korean isn’t the best :) I wanted a place close to home ( wentworth point I live) but when I add all things up fees course ect Liverpool looks fantastic so that’s the course ill join. After chatting to you guys over the last few day that’s made my mind up I’ll be there on Sunday have a quick look around and be handing my form in and counting down the days till I get my first comp game. If you guys would like to have a social hit I am not the best golfer I played off 19 when I would play once a month with the social club a few years ago let me know. Otherwise I think I’ll just jump in the deep end and hope I get away on the first tee well if not ill be the first the laugh at myself

Nice one. If you go ahead with Liverpool I think you’ll be happy with your decision. It was a Saturday when I joined – went to Drummond Casula to buy shoes, got a referral to drop in and see the GM of Liverpool that day, he gave me a brief tour, signed me up on the spot, and found a slot for me in the comp that same day. I wasn’t a member of any club at 1000, then at 1230 I was a paid member with a shiny new membership card and teeing off in my first comp. Awesome. Some of the other clubs I inquired about had a two-week waiting period between submitting form and being able to play. If you join, give me a hoy at fuzzyjuzzy2109@yahoo.com.au and we’ll tee something up..no pun intended:).

sorry for the late reply I went out on Sunday and had a look around and like you guys said Liverpool looks great. The only thing about Liverpool is the distance from home although its not a massive issue. I have the next few days off work so ill be coming down on friday for a game and ill also head to Cumberland (which is a little closer to home) for a game on Sunday. Than ill make my choice and join. I had a hit on monday at Chatswood with a mate after work it just blows me away how Chatswood can charge $700 more a year than Liverpool. My mate has played Liverpool many times and that was his first game at Chatswood and he thought i was joking when i told him.

Glad you liked what you saw. Best of luck when you play both courses – you’ll be in good hands either way. Liverpool is a better course, I think that’s the general consensus, but that’s not to say Cumberland isn’t good either and it depends on both personal preference and convenience. For what it’s worth, I live less than 10mins drive from Cumberland and it takes me 15mins to get to Liverpool. I know guys who live on the other side of Sydney but chose to be a member at Liverpool, but again I’m sure that can be said of many clubs… . Cheers.

i spoke to the capt on sunday bout this and he advised me to tell you that livo can offer you a free round to “have a look” at the place

you mentioned friday-will you be on youre lonesome or with mates?

i can only organise a free game for you, let me know so i can tell the capt of the club and the pro shop

No comps at Livo on Fridays. Maybe just call ahead though to see if they have any big corporate bookings, but you won’t have a problem getting a round in.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply (blame homelinx the only Internet provider in wentworth point) I had a hit the other day with my brother and mate at Liverpool and like you guys said its a great course although I have decided to joing Cumberland. I really enjoyed Liverpool and will have a few game in the open comp but have decide Cumberland is a little closer to my place and could get there after work ect for a game during the week ect where Liverpool would be pushing it. Thanks guys or all the help organising a game for me and once I get my handicap if you would like a hit I would be more than great full and I could get you a beer that I owe you :) I have my meeting on Friday to pay my fees ect however ill be away down the coast this weekend but with all luck ill be booked in for the following Saturday to play my first comp game. It’s a bit nerve racking finally getting to play comp but I just can’t wait. Stay tuned ill be sure to give an update.
