Hey mate, The food in the pro shop isn’t bad, but it’s nothing overly fancy. The thing about Livo is it’s out of the way, not far away, just not on a main road. It’s tucked into a pocket of the land on George’s River – it gets no through traffic, so not much point investing in the restaurant part of the club. Cabramatta GCis opposite. Cabra has a good restaurant…pretty good course, but not as good as Livo.

I have had a look at the website the layout looks great. The intermediate deal is by far the best i have seen from all the clubs i have looked into. Also they booking on from 7pm on a friday suits me as I work most fridays until about 8pm so wouldn’t make it for the ballot
|
|
Awesomeness:). I’ve never been to a ballot, yet every weekend I always hit off within 30mins or so max of the first tee time. Oh, other than Saturdays, bookings for every other day (including Sundays) opens online two weeks beforehand – at the pro shop for an hour or two, then you can do it online. If you do end up joining, I can book you in if you find yourself struggling to get a time you want. Every Friday evening at 1900 I’m always phone in hand ready to grab a nice early tee time….

SAF never been to a ballot either and i play at 11:45 on sat and 11:45 on sundays week in week out ok sometimes its 11:52!!!! as Fuzzy said food is hit and miss but if you ask the lovely ladies for a chicken schnitzel sambo they will knock it up for you in no time So wedding plans eh? yours i assume? all the best with that and now youve gone and got me all jealous playing mollymook on sat-lucky so and so, i assume you are playing hilltop and not the crappy beach course? ENJOY one more thing ask the guys in the pro shop to lend you a cart so you and the missus can zip around and have a look at the course, ill mention it to the head pro tomorrow so they are prepared, and make sure you take a good long hard look at the par 3 4th-you will see why when you see it and as you zip around look for a GREEK GOD looking bloke thats me LOL

I know a lot of people talk up Liverpool but I found it totally underwhelming when I played there last year. Perhaps the way I played had more to do with it? I’m not sure. I’ll have to give it another go sometime later in the year.

It’s mine alright when we were looking for a venue I was smart and suggested Narooma or Mollymook we ended up at Mollymook as it’s a little closer for our guest and a few keen golfers are coming too. My Mrs will just wait in the car ill jump out and have a look I wanted to get her into golf but after a night at west ryde putt putt i decided that golf isn’t for her.:)

One more question can you tell me about the comps like fees to play in them and prizes and how it works.
|
|
comp fee is $13.00 monthly medal prize $50 all three grades sat comp individual and 2bbb are in the $40 range same as sundays $75 for winning monster monday- off the plates, hardest pins, greens bikini waxed(i think u get youre money back if you shoot youre hcp but will need to check that) and there are plenty of “big” events during the year where prizemoney is $100-200 including the champos and matchplay

Sounds great I am not the most competive person I am just happy to play regular golf but it would be nice to mayb one day have a win lol. Sounds like a great club looking forward to joining in Sunday ill be a little nervous teeing off in the first comp but looking forward to it.

You’ll be fine mate. In my first comp at Livo, which was only in March last year and was my first competitive round since junior golf 13 years earlier, I was so nervous I opened with an 8 and a 10 (on back 9), 10 over thru 2. Awesomely shithouse! Once you’re playing comps week in week out, you quickly get into the swing of it all though…

On your way back from Mollymook, take an extra 5 mins to divert off the M5 to have a look at New Brighton on Nuwarra Rd at Moorebank. If you are set on joining ‘Livo’, then this may be a course to compare it with. JMHO…......

Hahaha! I wish mate. Don’t know if you saw it or not, but last weekend McMiles shot 64 and 65 gross at Livo! You imagine being so good that you shoot 41pts off a +3 HC? He would’ve played to +10 on Sat…that’s insane!! Someone was telling me McMiles played a round at Livo not too long ago with Jake Higginbottom and smashed him…

SAF as fuzzy said dont worry bout it, livo does take some getting used to as ALL that water is intimidating first time i played with a member had the same experience as fuzzy but they knew i was nervous and just let me be, after the rnd they just said once you learn to keep the ball in play youll rip it up(i hit water 5 times!!!) Fuzzy, i saw that, that boy can play, all those youngsters who think they will be pros need to have a serious look at themselves, most if you counted 10 rnds would average in the 80’s, j-mac would average in the 70-72 BIG DIFFERENCE well im thinking for the club champos i chuck a tania harding on him smash up his knees and the tilte is mine-all mine i tell you LOL wishing you continued success with youre golf and that ever tumbling hcp mate

Good point mate. I like NB, but they’re about to do all that work there. dig up about 6 holes n relocate them, relocate clubhouse too. That’s what turned me off there…and the under 30 rate at Livo….not a fan of Liverpool dude? Not that shabby, is it??

I have been looking for ages to join a course almost joined last weekend at strathfield but went to the meeting and I know that wasn’t the place for me….my Korean isn’t the best :) I wanted a place close to home ( wentworth point I live) but when I add all things up fees course ect Liverpool looks fantastic so that’s the course ill join. After chatting to you guys over the last few day that’s made my mind up I’ll be there on Sunday have a quick look around and be handing my form in and counting down the days till I get my first comp game. If you guys would like to have a social hit I am not the best golfer I played off 19 when I would play once a month with the social club a few years ago let me know. Otherwise I think I’ll just jump in the deep end and hope I get away on the first tee well if not ill be the first the laugh at myself

Not at all Fuzzy 1. I quite like the course. Friend of mine is a member there and talks it up all the time. (Still waiting for an invite mind you…lol.) My wifes Uncle was a member there for many years but has given it away now due to back probs, played with him there a few times and that stretch home got me every time. SAF was looking for options, I am just throwing a few out there for him. I was not aware of the reno’s being conducted at New Brighton, and yes that would impact on joining in the short term, but it is a good course and I thought as it is close by why not have a look in. If he didn’t like Strathfield due to his inability to speak fluent Korean, then that was my thoughts for why he may not like Carnarvon and Carnarvon may not have the water of Liverpool, but it is every bit as well maintained if not better. Everyone talks up their home course and good on you for doing it. Mind you, also looks from some other posts you have made in other areas, once you have reached that magic age of 31, you also have indicated you may bail out due to the $$$ factor.

Hey mate its not the $$$ once I turn 31 it’s the fact that I waited to join a course because we bought a unit off the plan and all $$$$ went into that! Second now that I have a wedding planed down at mollymook in early 2014 woman want the world regardless :) after that wedding is done money won’t be such a factor but being young and paying for both restricts me. Liverpool looks great and affordable so that’s the place or me

Good luck to ya SAF…hope it’s all you expect.
Don’t plan on having kids eh…...lol…
