For a bit of fun, let’s hear how you would describe a golfer with these stats Front 9 – Stonecutters Ridge – Blue Tees 12 over for 9 (3 over from holes 5-9) This was my last social round and is pretty indicative of my scores generally.

Compulsive obsessive and far too concerned about what others think of his golf.. Apart from that, all looks normal : )

what immediately jumps to mind is a brash young whipper snapper that generally shoots 110+ but had a day out today. Well done, hope you’ve found a new level to build on

“Compulsive obsessive” this is pretty much spot on.

Slow out of the gates but gets in a rhythm and strings together a decent score from there on in.

Dangerous and deceptive in matchplay.

Shit putter and short game… And an inconsistent swing.
There’s many a slip ’tween a cup and a lip. |

Compulsive obsessive and far too concerned about what others think of his golf.. In fact, it is these same traits that exactly make for poor putting and a short game, for it is this area people really can embarrass themselves. It’s the equivalent of being so charming on a date that she invites you back to her house, then lasting a minute when it counts. Doing stats provides your self esteem with much needed relief that at least what you already know about your short game is correct. It feels good to be right, even if it’s about something bad. Having others confirm it for you makes you feel even righter. Your good fairways and greens stats are like convincing yourself that the girl was just too hot, because that’ll make you feel good that such a prime specimen was interested in you. Showing your good fairway and green stats to others is liking showing photos of your hottie to others, again to stroke the ego. Dr Phil.

Hack, clearly some of the other posters know you personally. greens: less than 50% lots to work on. keys to a good game? be straight (even if you aren’t long, be straight) and eliminate 3putts. But geez, I like the hot-date scenario, as painted above…that’s a beauty, Steb

For your interest golfhack, and to blow the tickets on myself, last Saturday I hit 50% fairways and 50% greens and shot a 72, 2 over through 18… Take that how you will and what you think our difference was.

men play 18
any one else heading home to get married?? |

12 over for 9 but 3 over from holes 5-9….means you start slowly, finish strong…...good effort.
Consultancy….if you’re not part of the solution, there’s big bucks to be made prolonging the problem. |

Yeah but you knew all that already : – ) I think most of us know where we suck without even keeping stats. Steb said it best : ) I’d just add; enjoy playing and improve the bits that need it.

Jesus Christ Yarny, cut it out. He can’t hold a ball marker without it falling through his hand , how could he possibly hit 50% of greens

Stonecutters is not an easy course, but the fairways are pretty forgiving. If you only hit 50% then a bit of work needed there. GIR, well given the length of some of the opening holes, that aint too bad for someone over 16 hcp. The 20 putts I can understand if you were starting out with a 15 footer to start with, they change grain and pace each hole. Some long par 4’s in there and to finish 3 over on the last 5 holes is very good, So in all, I’d say you are off about a 23 hcp and if that is the case, don’t worry, be happy. Oooh ooohh. oooh hooo de hood do oooh, don’t worry. be happy.
