I have noticed that two of my recent scores are not showing on Golflink and therefore not affecting my handicap. One was a stableford round and one a stroke monthly medal. I am unsure as to the method used. The stableford score was over a week ago, the monthly medal was this Saturday so maybe it is yet to register. Can anyone shed some light as to why a score wouldn’t be registered on Golflink?

Answer: the club where you played the comp hasn’t entered it into golflink yet. Your record is updated as soon as they have ‘processed’ the comp.

Sometimes it’s like waiting for the resurrection of the Titanic, but they end up in there in the end. Recently had two good scores not show up for 3 weeks, then once they were processed BAM!!! 4 shots gone in one foul swoop, just in time for monthly medal too.

Yeah, that’s right. Pretty lazy if you ask me. At my club scores appear in golflink by 6pm on the day of the comp.

I’ve had a similar problem with my new club, put my last of 3 cards in last Friday to obtain my handicap and couldn’t play my first comp today because it still hasn’t been submitted – Apparently gets done on a Tuesday so fingers crossed I can play for real on Wednesday!

Contact your Director of Golf & cc The Captain / President and General Manager. Not good enough, scores and subsquently GolfLink should be updated immediately on the date of competition.

Your first three cards don’t go in with the comp. They are held by the club until they’ve got the three, then manually record your initial handicap as the lowest of those 3. Golflink then deducts 7% to provide your starting figure.

Bushy, Do you realise you should have been disqualified for all those rounds in the three weeks for signing an incorrect card?? Stupid I know but them’s the rules! :) 4 shots though, must have taken some cash on those rounds!!

Nah, you play to your golflink handicap of the day. It’s not Bushy’s fault the club hadn’t processed the cards. And I thought under the new handicap system (or maybe it’s once the slope system is introduced), handicaps will only be updated every 2 weeks.

Not really, The rounds between weren’t anything special but losing 3 high scoring ‘counting’ rounds and replacing them with 2 great scores and a good score certainly cut a chunk out. To be fair too, going from 8.6 to 5.4 isn’t that big a drop but it’s still 4 strokes lost. As for disqualification, surely whatever handicap is in golflink on the day of competition is the correct handicap regardless of the processing speed of previous rounds? Can someone please clarify this?? I have been advised previously that you play what golflink has in the system.

I thought that was the case.

We may be in the back water up here in Darwin but our club uses Miclub…Brilliant system – book your round online, scores are updated as soon as you input card into computer after your round (like a Keno ticket). Automatically updates your place in the field and I can even check my progress against the field remotely. Once results are processed at end of day, automatically updates Golflink. Brilliant system but I’m guessing costs a few $$
