G’day all… I am also getting Stuart and Jamie in to hold an Aimpoint Clinic at Cardinia Beaconhills Golf Links 2:00pm Wednesday 23rd January. I highly recommend getting to any of the clinics if they are in your area.

You are lucky to have Cloughy. Great pro and excellent coach / teacher. He was in The Worlds Greatest Putter ( or something like that ) at Moonah years ago if anyone remembers it.
|
|
Indeed he is…his lessons are always simple…fix one thing at a time. None of this multiple-attacks in one lesson. Usually there is too much to remember anyway so he identifies just one thing, gives you the drill, talks it through to explain and explore, shows the position, shows the video clips, reinforces it for a few minutes and finishes the lesson.

Canberra dates will coincide around the Aussie Womens Open in a few weeks. Stuart will be there working with some players that week so will look at other open clinics to conduct.

Yes his coaching is tops. I was speaking to a girl who he used to coach as a junior just a few days ago who now has her card to play on the European tour and she was full of praise all these years later. My son used to have lessons with him and we used to write it all in a little diary and after reading it last week you are spot on – simple and easy to understand. Just reading it I could visualize the lessons all this time later. Your members are in good hands.

Willow, long time since we’ve heard from you, post count minimal. I thought you’d moved interstate or overseas and started a doughnut shop :)

I’d be interested in the Aimpoint clinics in Perth

I understand what your saying- BUT ie If we were discussing Scientology here online Id recommend coming to the live event as it can be explained much clearer that what we can do in the written word. You are also taking the comments out of context to the conversation that was had.

Or you could just say (and I’m going on heresay) that it is teaching how to use your feet to measure slope of the greens and then using a chart to decide how much break to allow. That way you give a teaser without giving too much. On a side note – how many gun golfers (let’s say top 50 in OWGR) use the system? Fair to say that if this thing is the duck’s nuts, then the guys who will make money from it would be all over it. ps – I have no idea of the answer. I’m just interested to know.

Its more than using your feet that was my average attempt to try and explain to someone I was having a discussion with. Your question answer here- the list is growing and many caddies are taking it up as well to help their players. Im unsure of OWGR and it doesnt look like that many as of yet or they dont tell people what they are doing. (Im sure your setting me up for some kind of disagreement on that fact Im sure;) Australia’s own Stacey Keating doing very well the past 18 mths. AimPointer Stacy Lewis, Ranked 2nd in the World, has 4 wins since learning AimPoint. Players: PGA TOUR Nationwide TOUR Champions TOUR LPGA/LET Top 100 Instructors: Mike Adams Colleges: Arizona State

Impressive list. No hidden agenda for a setup. My point is that there seem to be a lot of systems doing the rounds where they are being promoted as being a better way of doing things (and some of that is even done by coaching panellists on this forum). To me, the acid test for whether a system is proven is when PGA Tour players are using it, since they are the ones who will improve their income by using it. To me, that is credibility that cannot be argued.

The things that intrigues me at moment is that many caddies are taking the course as well. The players are putting so much trust into their caddies it seems now for the actual reading of greens or validating the players read. The top players dont look to be in the list but I bet well see more in next few years as each are trying to keep the advantage over the others. Stacy Keating winning 2 x last year now the others are going What is this AimPoint you been doing!!
