What’s complicated about it? It’s different to the current format, but it still seems pretty straightforward.

Straightforward????? so at the start of the final series do the 150 players all start with a zero balance as they cant carry over their PGA Tour $$$ surely

Yes Dougie you are right they do start at a zero balance. The Final four events are like an extended Tour School for those people alone.

Those 25 who have already earned their cards via the Web.com Tour throughout the year will still have them but their ranking will depend on where they finish.

Libba I guess my point was that while it is becoming clearer now in the early stages there were a lot of unanswered questions.

Time will tell whether it was the right move or not

I think it’s a clever move to take greater advantage of the Web.com tour, especially as it’s televised in some many countries around the world and I don’t believe Tour School is (at least I’m pretty sure it’s not televised here). I think you’ve explained how it works quite well so it doesn’t appear that complicated. It appears to reward consistent performance throughout the regular season (by guaranteeing the Top 25 earn a card) and then a consistent performance throughout the “Finals Series”. I think as the FedEx Cup Finals series becomes more and more popular as the format slowly gets bedded down, the PGA are looking to replicate it at the next level too. As always it will be interesting to see what permutations and combinations pop up in the first few years that no one has thought of!
