New to the forum but thought it best to introduce myself.

After buying some clubs approx 3 years ago for the odd social game I’ve decided that 2013 will be the year of the golfer.

I’ve been wanting to get in to the sport for some time now as I have a father in law who plays every week and is always keen to get out and a number of mates how play regularly.

Always put it off as I am so nervous about getting out there to be honest. I’m so inconsistent and tend to slice something fierce. I know it’s all about practice and some more lessons would be truly valuable…..think the last ones were 4 years ago!

Also busted my driver at the range over the Xmas period so that will need to be replaced. Thinking of picking up a Nickent 4DX Evolver as they seem great value for money for someone starting out.

Welcome to the funny farm, nabsie.

The first step to fixing your slice is to understand what’s causing it. Then, when your coach provides some instruction to help with the problem, you’ll understand what he/she is trying to achieve for you. You could also check out the GOLF SCHOOL on this site (green bar at top of page).

Also keep in mind that if your swing is all crap, inconsistency will be an ongoing feature and the more that you practise your faults, the more ingrained the problems will be. Get help soon.

Also. Use a 3 wood. Use driver money on more lessons. Get a driver next year.

Have to disagree with KIWI on the Nickent and AFL. I play a Nickent 4DX, and I’m really happy with it. It replaced a much more expensive driver. Hitting more fairways than I ever have before.
