Hi ACCA

I have only just read this thread due to my wife delivering twins a week ago at only 32 weeks so have been very pre occupied (and stressed!!)

I would always recommend my home course of Bunny as I think it represents great value. It’s only let down is the lack of practice facilities and lack of a social scene after games.

The greens in particular are the best around the Ballarat area year round IMO. I was a member at Midlands before Bunny and I left due to the condition of the course but I believe it has improved since I have been gone. In winter though it is a shocker and with really heavy rain it has been closed down a few times as has Ballarat. I cant recall Bunny ever being closed due to heavy rainfall but the course does get very slushy during the middle of winter and preferred lies are always used.

Xavier is a tough little track but the grass on the fairways can dissapear during summer as they only water the greens I think.

You can always get on Bunny morning or Arvo on a Saturday and it gets around very quickly, especially early morning. If you are in to having a daylight savings hit the course is generally deserted from 7:00pm onwards most days even with great weather and you can do as you please. I generally always bring the kids out then, which the club and members are more than happy with and encourage it.

Good mix of flat and hilly holes. It’s biggest defence is the greens which are very deceptive. I have been playing there 4 years and I still read them wrong sometimes. No fairway bunker on the course and not a lot of greenside bunkers but the tight fairways and abundance of trees makes up for that.

From Alfredton or Wendouree you would be looking at around a 10-12 min drive max.

I would say come and have a Saturday hit with me but with the twins arriving I am not sure when the next time I will get on the course will be!!

Cheers

Yes the 10th is the biggest hill and coming up the 9th is also a hard slog. 11th is way down hill with the tee elevated way above the green and on a dry day with the right drive it is reachable with the run you get, but also OOB all down the left and the fairways feeds toward the OOB so any draws or hooks are in trouble. 12th is the bunny hop about 115m from the back tees usally plays at around 90 with tee elevated way above the green again. Rated 18 but very easy to shoot bogey or worse. 13 gentle up hill slope and driveable with a good draw. 14 up then down hill with a massive tree just short of th green blocking half the fairway so unless you drive to the right spot which is righ side of fairway you need to get over the tree. Fairway feeds of to the right so hard to hold fairway in correct spot. 15 hits from elevated tee then the course pretty much is flat from there on and before 9th.

The 18th is next to the 10th tee and the greens generally run pretty fast.

I am sure I will get back to the course some time in the next month or 2. CB80 emailed me your mobile so I will give you a buzz next time I am playing a Saturday comp.

And yes I am Tubbo and use to be HitThroughIt. One and the same.

Thanks Bully. All going well now but a few issues at the start with The Twins coming at a little over 32 weeks. They are healthy and very cute but will be in hospital for another month or so.
