They had an article introducing what gear they were using that specified that kyle was going to keep using the Scotty at least for the moment

Oh please…. find for me where I mention it’s not about the money, where I say something like “it’s all about the equipment” or something like that… Of course its about the money. Where I differ is I think the complete package that Nike can offer him regarding everything in his career for the long term not just his equipment has a massive upside on top of whatever they’re going to pay him. Things like marketing, promotion, diversification, expansion. Nike is a massive global identity that transcends the boundaries of golf, something that Titleist isn’t and doesn’t. Thats not a knock on Titleist, it’s just the way it is. For Rory, his Nike salary will pale in comparison to what this new exposure can achieve for him, you only have to look back at Tiger pre-implosion and his earning abilities from outside of golf to get a grasp of what the potential is.

Did you see the article where Nick Watney has had a Method putter built to the exact specs of his Scotty except it has the “polymetal” grooves and obviously some swoosh branding on it. Honestly, how cool is that? “Yeah come be a staff player for us, we’ll pay you $$millions$$ and we can build you whatever you want…”

I think it’s only a matter of time till Stanley moves across to a Method. It’ll just be a confidence issue. No doubt trials will happen with prototypes & once he has the confidence, he’ll move across.

Do you think Rory will keep the Scotty? If so how long do you reckon Nike will give them to make the move?

Double D is back with Nike
The biggest lesson I ever learned was, not, whether it works or not, but, if it makes mechanical sense, do it ‘till it does work. The day of smoke and mirrors is gone. Gimmicks are gone. Fundamentals have nothing to do with trial and error The Dart |

Two more pieces of the puzzle have been released … only the big one to go.

Oleson and Yul Noh are good signings. Both young players about to go places.
If I could have any professional golfer’s name and any professional golfer’s hair, I would have Robert Rock’s name and Robert Rock’s hair. |

That Olessen bloke is great.

SYN was touted as a bit of a prodigy in his junior days, already has a win on the EU Tour as well as a win on the Asian tour. I remember watching him win the Malaysian Open and he really held his nerve well for a young bloke. Doesnt really fit what I would call “The Nike mould” but it is probably a very good marketing decision, Korea/Asia is a huge market these days. I hope he does well.

I made a lot of money off him last year betting that he will make the cut. Very consistent performer for a rookie and a great swing.

I am a big fan of Olessen also.

Just watching the Rory v Tiger duel in China from last year and am getting a little bit excited about next week. Maybe it’s the kid in me but I’m almost giddy with excitement.

I think Ive watched it 20 times already…see above. Clever, always a good thing when two athletes attempt to ‘act’ and it looks like the real deal. I think their friendship will make this deal astronomically successful.
