Folks,

Anyone out there got any good tips for playing Ryde Parramatta? I’ve got my first round there next week, and it’s in comp, so need to get clued up a bit. Thanks heaps. Cheers.

For a Liverpool member there should not be anything too daunting about Ryde Parra. Expect a slow round as Chopper indicates, a lot or our Asian brethren have membershiip and they take 270 practice swings each pre and post shot. Played there about a month ago and the course is in great nick. Fairways were like carpet and the greens are true paced but a tad tricky to read. Oh, the biggest tip. Stay outta the bloody trees. There are also a few hidden creeks at good distances that can catch what you think is a great approach in.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish…..

Is there still that second clubhouse (shed) for our friends?

Thanks mate. I thought all the Koreans were at Strathfield…..plenty at Livo too – and they all love playing in the late slots. I play mornings, then you finish round midday and the practise greens are chockers with them. Not having a go at them…just saying…

Nice track.. Just stay out of the water.. About 11 holes have some water involved in the hole.. If you go onto their website they have a description of each hole..

The course is in great condition and I think the fairways are like carpet
like a previous post said..

In my opinion it’s the best metro track that you can play outside of all the great private tracks like NSW, The Lakes etc..

Living round the corner I would be happy to pay $3k to be a member there but the 3k joining fee I can’t justify.. I only play there once every couple of months as I find $60 walking a bit steep..

That’s a bit rich … Have you even played Ryde Parra other thn on Fridays?

For some reason everyone thinks the club has a lot of Koreans and even if that was true what’s wrong with that?!? As long as they play quick and respect everyone else around them.

I joined Ryde Parra recently and reading this forum, went in expecting slow play and limited people to talk to, it was the complete opposite.

Agreed with syd golfer who was kind enough to invite me out for a couple of rounds. Pace of play no slower than other Sydney courses.

great track with some truly great holes. Cored about a month ago but the greens were already in fine form last Thursday.

as for tips, yes hit the ball where you can see it. Id suggest putting driver away on 3 8 13 and 15. stay on right side of fairway on 10. Have fun its a great course.

I was a member there for a few years and it is a very tight track with plenty of water.

Yes there were a few Koreans but I’m surprised no-one has mentioned the number of Caucasian men. Almost every 4 ball I played in included at least 1 or 2 of them…
