Sorry for a beginner question that is probably obvious to some but do Aussie courses have the distance markers set in meters or yards? Are the colours universal in that distance or is this course specific?

Teebull- meters in Aus -just add 10 percent for yardage or first two numbers e.g. 150m becomes 165 yards. Check local guides for whether measurements are to front or centre of green . As for colours

I reckon that all distance markers should have two numbers on them. The distance to the front of the green and then the distance to the centre. GPS units obviously give any number of measurements, but if both distances were listed on markers it would dispel any doubts that a player without a GPS might have. Also in all GA tournaments, GPS devices are banned anyway, so this would assist those competitors. As for flags – Red should be for a front third pin, white for the middle and blue for the back third. This should be standardised to avoid confusion.
Practice doesn’t make perfect – it just ingrains bad habits. |

Distance markers at my club are listed in the course guide, none of them are the same. I was originally told red 100m white 150m but the book lists them anything up to 20m different.
I will break 90 this year. It is NOT my age. It is NOT for 9 Once again I am the reserve moderator ( officially unofficial ) after stink if he decides to come back. |

Thanks guys, I will check with my local. They should actually show it all in Meters and Yards but I guess half the fun of beginning in golf is learning new things. Cheers guys
