I’m there over Christmas with a friend and he brought a voucher from golf link deals that’s heavily discounted so should be worth it even if the course isn’t perfectly maintained.

I was out there today walking inside the ropes following Scott and Watson.

Watson still hits it damn good, awesome driver of the golf ball. My money was on Scott before today, but after seeing what he is putting with, it’s had to imagine that he’ll get it done this week. He is striping it though!

The greens are the best they have been since the renovation. They are rolling absolutely pure, could be a tad faster though.

Allenby was referring to the green undulations etc not to the condition of them. No issues with him having that opinion, but not after you miss a 6ft birdie on 10, pull a layup 20m left and then ask a ball to stop dead when it hits a down slope. Just makes him look childish.

I’m always going to be biased to the course, and i no its not perfect but its still a great track, in the heart of the city.

Allenby was playing his 3rd shot from a waste bunker on the 11th hole and after hitting the shot was clearly heard to say “Definitely top of the list of one of the worst courses I have ever played”

These new greens not designed for high winds old pancake ones way better.Redesigner lay sprawled across a green at La Perouse in similar winds 18 years back.Should have learnt lesson when his face was embedded in the 14th green that day.There s a reason they designed flattish greens originally, the wind.Same thing will happen year after year at this venue.Back to the Grand G.C please.
