pgamember Thanks for answering my questions. As for the Cessnock incident how is this ‘irrelevant’ to the book when you have written it in your book. You make out in the book you were unlucky (which u always seem to be unlucky) that the golf pro was coming back from lunch and saw you. As for driving the cart to subway u imply that you were caught because being unlucky again the superintendent happen to be eating there at the time. I did not witness this event obviously but u know this is not completely the truth. As for PING and Reebok I’m sure they speak highly of you. I will be more than happy to ‘unmask’ myself. I will send you a private message via Facebook. You chose to write a book and well done getting it published. Im sure a lot of naive people who believe everything written in this book will enjoy the read. But as far as true stories of your journey, I don’t think so. Thank You.

Once again Maxxon, you’re entitled to your opinion. Just like assholes, everyone has one! I’m sure that anyone who has heard me commentate, actually knows me and has read my articles in Australian Golf Digest or Golf Australia are aware that I know what I’m talking about. It’s almost laughable that you think I’m delusional when I have logged everything I have done over the years and continually make mention of how I messed up many times and would like young guys coming through to avoid those same mistakes. FYI, I spoke to Paul Roser (Ping) 2 weeks ago for 1 hour and discussed everything. I’d happily have a beer with Paul right now. As for Reebok, I had a couple of guys ‘potentially’ going to help me out early on in my career. One of them was Angus Hawley, I had a good old chat with at Pymble 2 weeks ago having not seen him for a long time. Bowdo, A lot of people think it’s a good read mate and you get a nice little mention in there. Don’t take my word for it though as I’m allegedly delusional

As EP has pointed out, it’s probably most entertaining for people who are thinking of having a crack at turning pro or just golf enthusiasts interested at looking in from the outside. For someone such as yourself who has experienced everything EP has (and probably much more) it wont exactly be an eye opener, but it might be worth a read on the plane one day because you will probably relate to a lot of the places/tournaments/people mentioned. Your name even pops up on it :) I’m finding it a bit repetitive at the moment. I went to this tournament and hit this score, I went to that tournament and hit that score.
If I could have any professional golfer’s name and any professional golfer’s hair, I would have Robert Rock’s name and Robert Rock’s hair. |

Just like assholes, everyone has one! Rubbish. You’re entitled to your own opinion, but when it comes to the Subway and burnout incidents you’re not entitled to your own facts.

BGH has pointed out what I mentioned earlier, my story is thousands of other’s stories. I read a lot of biographies and find it fascinating to understand what makes people tick and their backgrounds whether it be sport, music or business. BGH, you mention it becomes repetitive but one of the theme’s, especially in my case having missed 13 cuts by 1 stroke in an 18-24 month period, was to detail the fine line between pleasure and pain. It also examines what you’re faced with when in a crappy place with nothing to do having just squandered the opportunity to make a few grand or win an event possibly. Hope you enjoy it Bowdo and yes, you could definitely write a book yourself mate. I’m sure you’ll be able to closely relate to a lot of the stories. Good luck at Finals too – cracking effort at 2nd!

Rtl You better read it, you might feature. Good luck at q school.
Play it as it lies, get on with it, its not life or death, its just a game! |

KW – You make me laugh mate! Even if I was fabricating those 2 instances, do you think those incidents which occured at 17 & 19, really play a major role in the theme of the book? I had only just turned pro when the B/Doon incident happened. Amazing that I look back with regret and shame at what I did but apparently that’s not good enough. I wish all of you happy golfing and invite any of you to speak to me, face to face, at your leisure, like a MAN!

How did you hit it at Pymble EP? and what is your opinion of the track? – (PGC member btw) – interested in your opinion nonetheless!
Billy Dunk is my hero… |

EP, thanks for getting on here to answer all these questions. Special thanks must be given for doing it only hours after walking off the 18th at the NZ Open. Above and beyond the call of duty. Nice round btw, T5 at the moment.
If I could have any professional golfer’s name and any professional golfer’s hair, I would have Robert Rock’s name and Robert Rock’s hair. |

Ugh, Madam beat me to it.
If I could have any professional golfer’s name and any professional golfer’s hair, I would have Robert Rock’s name and Robert Rock’s hair. |

Jezz ports I have read 108 pages and you have been fined on every second page!!! Haha.. Good luck in nz..remember breath :)

How many times have you been fined RTL? Come on, out with it.
If I could have any professional golfer’s name and any professional golfer’s hair, I would have Robert Rock’s name and Robert Rock’s hair. |

No worries guys, I’m happy to answer people’s LEGITIMATE questions. This wasn’t an easy thing to do to ‘throw myself under the bus’ in the hope that it could help others but I, like many, was touted as being a superstar with all the talent in the world but it takes a hell of a lot more than that to be successful. That’s where I believe my book can help. NZ Open – wind blowing about 60km/h. Rain predicted for tomorrow and hot for Sunday. Haven’t seen any earthquakes in the forecast but it is Christchurch! Happy golfing everyone!

|
@Bowdo, Haha yes I’m not really that proud of it nor is my wallet very happy. Another warning to aspiring golfer’s, keep your emotions in check!
|
|
Your not gonna believe this BGH but I can’t recall ever being fined.. I know I’m surprised myself.

All questions are LEGITIMATE.

I wish all of you happy golfing and invite any of you to speak to me, face to face, at your leisure, like a MAN! If I have the opportunity to do so in future, I’ll be very happy to do just that. You say that you “look back with regret and shame at what I did but apparently that’s not good enough” – no it is absolutely good enough! Unfortunately that regret and shame doesn’t feature heavily in the book. For example, you express no regret or concern about your (disgraceful) behaviour at the hotel in Manila – the only thing approaching reflection on the incident was saying that the best thing about it was not having to return to the course! The Subway and burnout incidents fit the theme of the book (as I see it) like a glove. You continue to do stupid things, then blame others or seek to downplay your own stupidity when you don’t like the consequences of your actions. Well played this morning.

One last post - KW, you’re 100% incorrect! Maxxon, Easy to throw stones isn’t it. Haters always going to hate & you’re in that category. 99% of the feedback for ‘Tour Confidential’ has been tremendously positive and for that minority of you that don’t like it or appreciate it, that’s a shame but you can’t win them all. Oh, and the more you talk about it guys, the more interesting it must be. I’ve enjoyed answering the majority of questions on this forum over the past year or two and I’m sure the majority of you are people who love your golf. So am I. I hope to see all of you around the traps at some stage. For now, Au Revoir!

Well said KBW

Im not a hater just don’t like liars. Thats All. Good bye.

“Matthew Sear – Ewan I never would have even imagined what you went through after reading that book, and u still keep on persevering! That’s why I’m a big fan and look up to you in a big way. Great read mate” One who saw it for what it was! If any of you want to check out the reviews and how much of a waste of time it is, feel free to check out my Twitter page.

pgamember You don’t seem to be a retired golfer. Are you planning more exploits for material for another book given the apparent success of the first. Perhaps there could be a trilogy with redemption in the final book.
Play it as it lies, get on with it, its not life or death, its just a game! |

Once again Maxxon, you’re entitled to your opinion. Just like assholes, everyone has one! How quickly you’ve retreated from this comment earlier today, pgamember. (It took you less than four hours to return after allegedly quitting this website a little after 2pm – a stunning parallel with your golf career!). You either think that people are entitled to their opinion, or you don’t. You clearly don’t. Nor do you respect opinions unless they accord with yours. Just because some people like the book doesn’t mean everyone does – and the people you quote aren’t necessarily ‘right’. Nor am I necessarily ‘right’ You told us earlier that you don’t care what I and others think, but you do, otherwise you wouldn’t be back here desperately trying to prove us ‘wrong’. If you want a career in broadcasting and publishing, you’ll need more resilience than that. Good luck tomorrow.
