Everyone is entitled to an opinion. ‘The Author’ claims he has told nothing but the truth. While many of these story’s have SOME truth to them there is always a reason or an excuse for all the wrong things he has done. I guess all our memories get cloudy over time.

Yep, it’s becoming a troll’s paradise. The thread’s being trashed. Not an ounce of sensible, measured discussion from them. Troll victory in sight.
Have you read the book TTR?
TTR giving an opinion that is different to yours does not make someone a troll.
I agree Maxx, and look forward to Ewans answers.
You have me mixed up with that “other guy”.
I don’t have you mixed up with anyone. You seem very reluctant to answer the question. For the fourth time, have you read the book?
If you are going to comment on the book I think it’s only fair you have read the book.
Absolutely, you have me mixed up with that guy who answers to Trolls.
Now, don’t try & be sensible liptout. But while I’m at it I just heard that pgamember didn’t say “please” and “thank you” once. Bastard.
Are you guys trying to get to 20 posts to sell something ?
The greatest game ever played. |

Wow all the name calling. I guess that must be your only option when can’t or won’t engage in discussions. Life would be boring if we all had the same opinions.
MaxxOn, how can he judge what is a ‘sensible, measured discussion’ when he hasn’t even read the book? I won’t be taking lectures from him, he has no credibility.
Must be.

EP, “The life and times of Ewan Porter:
grooves?? (formally known as Liptout) |

pgamember Just a few questions: 1. You mentioned the driving the golf cart to subway? 2. The Cessnock story about the accidental burnout is hilarious. As many people witnessed you perform several burnouts. I guess accidents happen? 3. Any reason you don’t mention in the book your fallout with your past sponsors PING and Reebok? 4. You seem to have a very clear recollection of many nights out etc. even though heavy amounts of alcohol seem to have been consumed? Cheers.

I can take a number if you are keen on looking to take everyone’s confessions Father Maxxy?
Have you come here to play Jesus, with the leopards in your head |

The thread is not trashed in the slightest, it’s a great read and one of the reasons why ISG is so good. Ewan has been terrific in responding to all sorts of questions and feedback, yet you seem concerned on his behalf for some reason that he is being trolled? I doubt Ewan needs your help, whatever it is you think you are doing.

I have to agree that if you write a book about wotever and claim certain things to be true and somebody else comes along and claims otherwise then be prepared for some kind of backlash, im interested to hear what other have to say about it.. i dont think i will bother with the book because to be honest and no disrespect intended i dont really think ewan he been through much more in life then anybody else ..myself included .. but i could be wrong!. I know this may sound quite bad and i mean no disrespect to ewan but most people tend to write a book when they feel they have achieved something in life ( like a couple of majors for instance) and yes im sure other people have written books that nobody has ever heard of .. but as i said they were probably trying to make a living also : ) .

Some of the stuff makes me laugh! Let me start by saying that I make mention in the book of how I regret doing certain things and am certainly disappointed in my attitude towards particular things in the past. I’m even expressing that again now so for those who have said it comes across like I don’t care, you’re wrong! The point I’m trying to make out of the silly/immature stuff I’ve done – I was young, immature and thought I was invincible. Any of you ever felt like that at some point? My actions could have had much worse repercussions and I hope that a lot of the young guys/rookies coming through today can possibly realise that nobody is immune to self-destructing. ‘Tour Confidential’ is my first hand story of things I have encountered over a decade as touring professional. They are all true and I have no reason to lie. Many of you probably think “Who the hell is Ewan Porter to say this”? Well, as I said to Graeme McDowell last week when he was asking me about it, for every GMac there’s 10000 Ewan Porter’s. My story is the reality for thousands of golf professionals across the globe. If I can help one person pave a better pathway for their future then my book has served it’s purpose. As for ‘Maxxon’s’ accusations earlier,.what happened in junior golf is completely irrelevant to the book as it’s about the journey as a professional golfer. When I took a cart to Subway at Bonnie Doon, what does it matter if 1 or 100 people saw me? I did the wrong thing, copped my punishment and moved on. Oh, you’re not even close to the mark with Reebok and as for Ping, well I look back and wish that I had have remained loyal to their ‘stable’. Why? Because after using their equipment for 6 years, I decided to chase more money and signed with Nickent. Was it a bad move? Well, I won Moonah, had a Top 10 at the Australian Open and qualified for the British Open within 2 months of using their gear. Unfortunately the company went into liquidation but if I had my time again, I wouldn’t chase the money in endorsements relating to golf equipment because you will make more money on the course using what you’re comfortable with. I was always comfortable with Ping! If any of you want to ‘unmask’ yourselves, please feel free to ask me any questions on my Facebook page “Ewan Porter Golf & Media”. Thanks for taking the time to express your interest in my book. I know not everyone will like it but as I’ve said all along, I purely wanted to educate people as to what we all (not just me) go through on a weekly basis on tour and to attempt to mentor aspiring professionals as to what they can expect when they hit the circuit. Cheers!

Just had this reply to my book on Facebook – this is echoing the opinion’s of many others thus far. I apologise if others don’t feel the same because Jim has hit the nail on the head: Jim Keats: “Just finished your book, well put together and a great story for all aspiring pro sports people, I bet you would have changed a few things if you could start again..I am going to send your link to all the Bankstown players and tell them it is a must read…Cheers mate”
