Thanks Trickshot and good luck with it all!

@Brentdalegolf – There are some pretty strong rumours that you are spot on the money. What kind of caddy would allow their player to do something so silly?

Ewan can you drop me a line at below email when you get a chance? I emailed y ou today but havent heard back – Id rather ask offline.
Cheers

Razaar, I have written something that all professional golfers will relate to, all hackers will appreciate that we suffer as much mental anguish as they do and aspiring pro golfers can learn from.

For every superstar, there’s 10000 Ewan Porter’s.

Just a dose of reality this book. No more, no less! What life is really like on tour!

I work as a drug and alcohol counselor

drugs affect all walks of life, I havent read it yet but look forward to it – when I get some spare time!

I think being a pro golfer would bring unique pressures that would encourage risky behavouir away fron the course

I applaud you for writing a book that some may not like because this will get us talking about these issues, with talk ideas spawn to help people cope with pressures.

we can’t talk about it of we don’t know its going on

Golf is only a game…Yeah right who are you kidding?

Ewan – what have the other pro’s said to you about the book? Any not like it?

pgamember, I’ve been given the all clear by iseekgolf administration to ask you about the incident at the hotel in Manila. Do you regret assaulting the caddy master when he arrived from the course seeking payment for his caddy? Do you think your behaviour was appropriate in the circumstances?

You asked that question as your first post a couple of days ago. Is that your sole purpose for joining this forum?

TTR a fair question- KW has been pretty good with having to wait and did oblige my request.

Ewan was cool with the question being asked as well.

TTR, yes it was, hence the name ‘KeyboardWarrior’. Having actually read the book (unlike most here), I don’t think its an unreasonable question to ask.

TTR,

What is the agenda behind this post?

Started reading the book and 1/3rd through the book, I find the book easy to read and Ewan is honest about what he did and I guess in retrospect he may have taken a different approach at times. Maybe a lot of golfers who dream of making it big need to look at the episodes Ewan lost it and learn from it, I think a lot will have the same attitude as Ewan ….... It won’t happen to me.
It’s easy to question someone about an incident later but in the heat of the moment we all do or say something we regret later.
I look forward to a reply to keyboard warrior’s question, and finishing Ewan’s book.

Not unreasonable? I suppose that’s a matter of opinion. But if it’s okay with Madam & pgamember, all good here. I suppose that begs the question, if you’ve signed up just to ask the question, what are you going to do once you get an answer?

Who gives a fark about a CaddyMaster in Manila? PGAMember didn’t have cash, had to head back to the hotel to get some, then gets a tool in his face giving him a mouthful, I reckon the bloke probably deserved a touch up…

Tochakka has hit the nail on the head!

One of the purposes of me writing this book was to educate those with aspiring golf careers as to the potential forks in the road they may encounter. I went about everything in a manner that I reflect with both pride and frustration.

Pride in that I did everything my way, was stubborn, naive and cocky bordering on a little arrogant. This attitude helped me a lot of the time too mind you.

Once a few demons began to creep in though and self doubt followed, it was a path of self-destruction.

When I say frustrated, I’m frustrated with myself for not having been more open to advice early on from those more experienced. I could have potentially avoided a few obstacles I did come across in my career.

@keyboardwarrior – What I did was a spur of the moment action that I’m certainly not proud of but if you read that entire episode as to how it unfolded, you would understand the built up anger. The point behind it all was that you can never expect everything to run according to plan, especially in Asia and at the time I wasn’t mature, or savvy enough to handle it in a professional manner.

I will admit that it’s kind of a fun story to tell people though.

Dear pgamember

i beleive there is a lot of royalty money you r missing out on

my golf coach(the toilet roll man LOL) when giving me lessons ALWAYS brings youre name up

“oh EP tiried this and it worked a treat or EP would do it like this”

i reckon you hit him up for some $$$$$$$ mate

but seriously loving the book and will buy the paper copy as well

loved youre commentating the other w/end

BTW next time youre in syd drop by “royal” liverpool and we can sort out that caddy of yours, and maybe squeeze in a few holes!!!! :)

You’re just jealous because the voices only talk to me

Haha, thanks ‘winniereds’.

He’s a good man Brent Dale – we had some fun times together and not coincidental that I played quite well too.

I haven’t played Liverpool in close to 10 years. 2nd hole there used to scare the shit out of me!

What is the agenda behind this post?

There is no ‘agenda’. I read the book last week, and heard that Ewan Porter was participating in the thread here. There isn’t a conspiracy when a reader wants to discuss a book with the author.

pgamember, good to hear that you’re not proud of what happened – that doesn’t come through in the book at all. The absence of contrition for this and numerous other fiascos makes the person you depict in the book very difficult to like.

(I’ve never met you, so no idea what you’re really like).

Did Trump National in New York do anything about the stalker?

Superb effort putting away Martin Kaymer’s missus by the way.

Keyboardwarrior, first of all I didn’t ‘put away’ Kaymer’s ex. We’re friends and that’s all it’s been.

As for your opinion of me, I have to be blatantly honest and say that it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m not trying to make anyone like/dislike me – that’s not the intention of the book. It is to educate people as to the emotional and financial rollercoaster we professional golfers endure.

If you got that message, great. If not, I suggest you read it again because everyone else has thus far!

EP,

mate any time you want a game id be more than honoured to show you how to butcher that 2nd hole :)

as for Mr Dale, as a golf coach he is SUPERB and a absolute gentleman(he says it was youre bad influence on HIM)

as for his tv choices ie Jersey Shore well lets leave that alone -(for now)

all the best mate

Don’t worry about him mate. He smelt like troll from the 1st post.

Thanks TTR!

That’s a relief! Very dangerous path to start caring what anonymous people on the internet think of you.

Honest question – did you ever consult a sports psychologist (apologies if you talk about it in the book and I’ve forgotten)?

Are you playing the Open and PGA?

TTR, I’m pretty sure that pgamember is capable of looking after himself without your intervention. He has put himself out there (which is a brave thing to do), and is charging people for the privilege of reading his story. Those who read the book are entitled to make a judgement – to his credit pgamember hasn’t objected to that.

Have you even read the book?

Yes I did and no I’m not!

‘Tour Confidential’ currently Top 5 out of all sports books worldwide on Amazon! Thank you to those who are supporting it, reviews continue to be extremely positive!

Never said pgamember wasn’t capable of looking after himself. But nobody has been fooled by your little smoke & mirrors routine. The first post was a nice little abrasive number. The accusation of playing around with Kaymer’s “missus” was a disgrace. The only thing vaguely resembling a compliment was a couple of backhanded compliments. Anyhoo, now you’ve asked the question of pgamember, your work here is done & you’ll be toodling back to Ozgolf?

Why is it a smoke a mirrors routine to think Ewan is a bit of a tool?

Do you not think it is jack anymore?
