What hole changes Par

After playing at RP last week and putting the wind right up the critics, I pondered. The course was a Par 72 yet some nuffies on here say it was only ACR 71. So, could anyone tell me which Par 3 become a Par 2, or which Par 4 become a Par 3, or which par 5 became a Par 4. I can’t think of any Par 3 that would have been a Par 2, Nor any of the Par 4s been a Par 3. Maybe 1 of the 5s could have been a par 4 but that would make it possibly the longest par 4 in the land? So anyone care to tell me what hole lost a shot??

Mate I know what ACR is and how it works in theory. So can you tell me what hole shortens a shot?? I’ll check in every few days until someones shows me which hole magically lost a shot?

So anyone care to tell me what hole lost a shot?? Since they removed half pars from the game, ie Par 4 1/2 the answer to your question is : None. Its a Course rating not a hole rating. Mate I know what ACR is and how it works in theory Obviously not, otherwise you would not be asking. Enjoy.

what did you shot GCG? I suppose you have posted it on your website and blog, but I don’t have the time to check your site as I am stuck on youporn for the next hour or so.

If they did have hole ratings and given that you were playing off the whites, the 6th in the Wangara 9 is a 258m par 4 and the miss is to miss long…....... So did you get the guys to sign your card for handicap purposes? Would be a good starting point in your goal to get to 5.

Don’t care what ACR is its a fair and logical question. If the course is par 72 surely all the holes have to add up to 72. If the par is 71 the holes should add up to 71. What is illogical about that? It seems that a game that used to be reasonably simple is now that complicated that you need a degree in physics to play.

I’ve been told that I can be naive at times. So can someone tell me if the OP is sarcasm, satire, stupidy, or is he just taking the p—s.
It’s easy : Hit ball in hole, use stick! |

Possibly all of the above.

I thought i was always the 4th hole? They’re usually the easiest.

Is this thread the result of severe concussion? While having the same number of letters, and being slightly more difficult to pronounce, ACR is not the same as PAR. PAR is the number of shots expected to be taken to complete each hole and subsequently (wow what a big word that was) the whole course. ACR or (the more difficult to pronounce) AWCR is the number of strokes it is determined (another big word) to take to play to your handicap…. There is very little relationship (I am full of big words today) between ones handicap and a courses par – unless PAR = ACR/AWCR Clear as mud… now you may go back to your finger-painting.

It’s still the 4th hole that’s easier though.

After hitting 85 buddy, I’d be wondering what happend with your additional 13 shots …. or was that 14? Either way, 72 or 71, you have much more to be concerned about GCG, than what the ACR was. 85 …. Ha!!

Some have played golf for years and never achieved 85. How is the average golfer now suposed to know hope good the score is, we now have ACR CCR SLOPE what next, as I said you need a degree in physics to play the game.

It’s really not that hard to understand.

Most who do play for years don’t get on here and spruik about how good they will be before they are good enough to spruik how good they are and those who are good enough to spruik won’t do so. That’s one difference I see :)

I agree with Stink. Had to be the 4th.

Some have played golf for years and never achieved 85. 85 is a mediocre return for someone who has hit 1500 balls a week for 6 months and used to play off 4. How is the average golfer now suposed to know hope good the score is, we now have ACR CCR SLOPE what next, as I said you need a degree in physics to play the game. If the yanks can understand it then we can, unless of course, they are smarter than us.

It may not be very hard to understand, but I don’t care how good the training is most of this is subjective assessment made by humans who will always make mistakes, so what then. We will find constant alterations that can only make .1 or .2 difference in handicaps. It is all Bulldust and once again only complicates what is basically a simple game.
