For those who haven’t kept up to date with the life and times of GCG, Today he went to the range and hit it like a fkn spastic.

So, I have 11 days and 11 nights till the Royal Pines challenge where I have to back up my trash talkinh with results and on todays performance if I was shadow boxing the shadow would have knocked me out.

11 day 11 nights, what do we do.

Tomorrow I am up at 4.30am as I have to drop an elderly neighbour at the airport, so I figured I’d drop her off and then go hit balls at CT at 5.30am.

I’ll hit a bag of SW that’ll be 100 balls as I threw out all the peices of chit and only kept the Titleists., I’ll pick them up then go and practice putting for 1 hour, have a brekky break.

then I’ll go back and hit a bag of 7,8,9,PW on the practice fairway. Go pickem up.

Then I’ll spend 40mins in the bunker.

then I’ll drop 100 balls 15m from a pin which is then inturn 20 to the next one and then about 40m to the next and I’ll alternate hitting a chip to each pin.

that will get me to lunch.

I’ll have a break for an hour.

Then I’ll spend an hour on the putting green again, and if I can still hang onto a club I’ll hit a full bag of gap wedges into the green

How will that work.

I gotta get my swing back in peak performance, no ways in this life time am I turning up to a course that will tear me a new ass and not atleast make an effort not to be owned.

I’ll do all that tomorrow, and cut it in half everyday going forward with a couple of sessions on the range??

I aint happy being a chopper never have never will.

Whatya reckon??

i’m booking a plane tonight…......gotta see this ‘showdown at the pines’ haha

Yeah but Yarn plays an EASY course ….. all the time ;-)

Let’s see what he can do at Royal Pines?

As for you mate…. you gotta grove the swing.

I agree with what Nathan said about playing a course though….. better than just hitting balls recklessly in my opinion.

Just keep on practicing and believe in yourself….

I put my practice sessions up on Ozgolf, the consensus was it appears to be a solid practice session.

I do all my practice on a Saturday morning, starting generally at 7:54am and always on the course.
I vary my practice up into groups of 3 to 5, maybe 6 shots per “mini session”, I like to break my practise up by using a different club each mini-practice session and will record the number of shots I hit in each practice session on a little piece of card.
As a whole, in a typical full practice session (taking into account each mini-pratice session) I will hit about 10-12 Drivers all to varying specific targets.
With my putting I like to practice as little as possible, I am really happy if I have hit less than 28-30 practice putts per session, again I count all of these as one practice shot each. With the putting I like to have 1-2 practice putts in each mini-session, 3 or more and I am not happy. My putts will always decrease in distance each time I putt in each mini session finishing by holing the last putt, this means I am practicing good.

I like to hit up to 20 shots from all sorts of varying lengths from inside 100m with either my pitching wedge, my sand wedge or my lob wedge. Again, I do this only once or twice in each mini-session, generall after I have hit a practice driver and before I will hit my practice putts. I try not to practice my bunker shots if I can help it, if I do I only like to do it once in a row.

Some practice sessions I will hit a 5 wood at the begining of a mini-session, this might only be once or twice in a full session.

I vary my practice with my irons, sometimes I will hit 4 9 irons in a pratice session, other days only 3, sometimes these are knock-down shots, othertimes they are full shots.

I will do 18 or so mini-sessions per day, I will stop after about half of them and grab another drink and maybe a sandwich and go out and practice the other half.
At the end of my pratice session I like to add up all the shots I had in each mini session and total them up as one score for my whole practice round, I will then get someone to sign that I did in fact have that many practice shots, I give that little piece of cardboard to a man in the pro-shop and he will tell me how much I practiced compared to the others who were out there that day.

Each time I go out to pratice I try to practice less that I did the prior week.

I will generally always do my practice with 3 other blokes who also record the amount of practice shots too.

Some weeks I like to use my partner and count our prcatice scores on one card and we will count our score and compare it to the other two blokes we are practicing with who are also combining their practice scores, just to mix it up from practicing with ourselves all the time.

I am number six double three

I am really shocked GCG that a bloke of your extraordinary talents struggles at all. I mean you regularly hit it 300 easily and straight down the middle, you flag 90% of your approach shots inside 110, you have distance control that can hit it to 94m – not 95 or 92.

I can’t believe you are asking for our advice mate, surely you have all the answers being that you are more talented than even the guys on tour?

Sorry I am just stunned that you are struggling. WOW… Next thing you will be telling us that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy don’t exist?

My advice mate?

It is quite possible that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

God forgives people, that’s not my job….

I may not have put it in those words but I have to agree.

GCG, being brash & a braggart was always going to end badly. The sycophants who clung to you like remoras and misdescribed those sorts of comments as “piss funny” certainly didn’t assist your cause.

Your OP practice plan is lunacy. You’ve got way too much pressure on yourself now. Golf is meant to be fun. Why have that much pressure just for a piddly social round?

IMO, the better way is a heartfelt “hey guys, I f*cked up. Sorry for causing any offence. I’m gonna pull my head in & just enjoy being a chopper & the challenge of getting better. Peace to all.” Much better than some meaningless stunt at Royal Pines which will probably end up in a + 100 score.

Mate, I don’t know you. We’ll never hang out or play together. But I hope it all works out b’c the crap that’s been going back & forth in ISG threads lately is the worst I’ve seen for some time. But that’s my .02 & only my opinion fwiw.

GCG …....... Get away from the range and find a course, a real actual life sized golf course, that you can get on, and do your practice.

“Range hitting” means nothing, and gives you nothing.

A course on the other hand gives you all the learning environment that you’re ever going to need.

Real situations, such as different lies on every shot, different distances each time, different shapes to hit them …..different obstacles to get over or around ….. and only one attempt to do any of it.

By the way, I don’t think that RP is that hard a course ….. it’s a resort course, ffs ..... and is nice and wide … so don’t shoot yourself in the foot, or make excuses for yourself before you even get onto it.

It’s okay to have self belief, it is okay to talk trash (and then hide behind it was a joke statement, don’t you have a sense of humour?) but as True Review said, you speak endless amounts of trash, to the point of outwardly insulting people and then get shown to have nothing to back it up with, mate you are in for a LONG HARD time of it….

Good luck at Royal Pines GCG, anything less than single figures, anything less than 300 metre drives straight down the middle, anything less than laser approaches from inside 110m is going to land you in a world of “I told you so here” and I will be personally queing up to be one of them….

No pressure, just sayin’....

Then again you will probably just crack it and run for the hills like you did last time :)

Totally agree re: the course. Played there over christmas and its definitely not a tough track. I’m no Robert Allenby or GCG for that matter but I cant see how it is going to trouble a decent player
