They have overcome a fairly big hurdle.

Thanks InsideGolf, yes a huge hurdle to overcome for The Eastern Golf Club to receive planning approval to build a 27 hole Greg Norman Designed Course in Yering.

Pretty much all of them. Most that didn’t want to do it left years ago when the plan was first announced. They’ve since picked up a lot of new members (many from the asian community) who wanted to get in to ensure a place at the new course once it’s up and running. By all reports, it should be something special and compete comfortably with The Heritage when built and settled in.

In that article they refer to the water run off a fair bit.
How come Yerring Meadows got the green light, when it is effectivly across the road?

The Eastern Golf Club confirmed to take over Yering site 1st July 2013 and begin construction of a 27 hole Greg Norman course & 9 Hole Par 3 course and other recreation facilities.

Eastern will also take over Yering Gorge Cottages, one of the Yarra Valley’s premium accommodation sites. Completion and opening due mid 2015.
