Hi de ho

Just wondering how many golf balls people carry in their bag per round?

Eek

Lots! Just in case

I suppose I will always have a dozen on board!

Never underestimate the power of ignorance!

These days I carry 3 new balls 10 practice balls.

I used to carry a lot more when starting out.

About 6-8, usually a new ball each round, don’t keep old balls, give them to the juniors at the club.

2 newys and 6-10 old ones in the bag.

new ball goes into play every competitive round.

In the bag there are probably 10-15 or so including the ones I find. I have a clean out every couple of months to get rid of the spuds.

The biggest lesson I ever learned was, not, whether it works or not, but, if it makes mechanical sense, do it ‘till it does work.

absolutely no idea. I know there are some there. The “finds’ go in the buggy seat for disposal to the pro when i get back to the shop.

If i find I’m running low i just grab 4 or 5 more from my stash in the locker.

I don’t often get a new ball out. just use them till i either lose them or they get damaged. might be one shot, might be 8 rounds

5 or 6 – 2 new and others from previous rounds.

anywhere up to 10 or 15 newies and up to 10 or 12 practice balls-

I usually carry 4 or 5 newbies and 5 or 6 no so newbies :P

5 new
No old

Wow.

Thanks for your input guys.

I normally carry about dzn and was thinking that was way too much. Now I feel a bit better.

Eek =)

After 8 rounds you would hardly be able to read the brand anymore!

Hopefully you’re not being a bit of a tight a*rse by not using new balls :)

I can easily play 8 rounds without the ball being a problem. your only hitting about 40 full shots with them in a round at worst.

I hate using a new ball on our first hole as it is 194m downhill par 3 with water. Then the second is 390m par 4 with water all the way on the left, behind and on the right of the green. so i always start with an old one. If i’m still going OK i can rarely see the point in changing, so i don’t. I have about 30 new ones in the locker so its not an issue of being tight, just don’t see that i am gaining much

I also find that if i use a new one i often lose it in the first 2 holes. bit of a phobia there, but rarely happens with old ones.

I hate that as well when you lose a new ball early on in your round but that is golf as we know it. I am sure the scuba diver at my course has made a good profit from me over the years on certain holes. Bastard!

The eels are too big in our dam. They ate the last scuba diver

I would have thought as a 10 marker (yep checked ya signature), the water wouldn’t enter your mind.

We have 1 hole with a big ‘pond’ that would be around a 220m carry off the back tees with a bail out down the left and I can’t remember the last time I hit one in there. Don’t psych yourself out!!

Yeah, unfortuantely I’m not that accurate with a 4 iron on the first hit of the day. The problem left is that its OOB about 20m from the green and I tend to err right (water) rather than left (OB)

Playing off 10 is no indicator in my books that i actually “know” where the ball is going a lot of the time, particularly on the first few holes. Its probably a good indicator that i play twice a week mostly on the same course and i’m a pretty good putter.

I had 23 putts last round and still only had 39 points. That probably states it pretty well!! ( and still didn’t win a ball!!)

always start with a new one…prob 5-10 used ones floating round in the bag

C’mon guys enough is enough…..time to let the king log back in!

I dont use new balls at Newcastle, lose too many!

I play at Pacific Harbour, so for those that have played it before, you will know just how easy it is to lose quite a few. ( especially when the wind is up to it’s usual tricks).

Normally carry 8-10 new ones and doz or so old ones.
There are a few holes where I will rarely pull out a new ball as there is danger just about everywhere.

I tend to carry about 3 new balls. If I lose them I prefer to go onto the old ones… gets too bloody expensive otherwise!

Sleeve of new and about 6 used – I start with the same ball I finished the previous round with…lose it and use a newie.

5 new balls and 5 old balls. Also tee off the first with a number 5 ball and change balls at the second if needed.Looks like i have a problem with number 5.

at least 12
4 old n 8 new…of various types…
