I thought it was quite well done, but got a bit monotonous by the end. I thought that LCD in the floor was awesome and am going to get one when I figure out where I would put a TV the size of a football field.

yeah i thought the same. Very serious indeed – but thats what we expected – dragging out now. amazing technology used though – and very effective use of lighting and colour
drive for show - putt for D'OH!!! |

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ? |

I watched ten minutes, until I got a headache from the commentary… but that’s 7 for you.

pretty entertaining, commentary was pitiful and the add breaks during the opening ceremony…a once in 4 year event was pathetic.

The drums was impressive stuff. It got a bit repetitive after that.

I only saw the first 20 minutes and was pretty impessed by the drums, but could not believe the ads through it and then I am sure I heard a channel 7 director giving instuctions to someone and it went on air a couple of times…. I thought to myself…. Geez, they stuff the footy up each week, now its the Olympics! I fell asleep after that!

Can’t believe there was an add after 11 minutes!
Flush it, chunk it, flush it, chip it, hole it 5 a half! |
|
I watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon on SBS….great fiilm!

The Chinese know what we westerners like, big TV’s and ridiculous amounts of fireworks! Oh, before you get too excited, that TV was made in China, it will still break down 1 day after the warranty expires.
|
|
Then I feel sorry for all the people with Callaway or Taylor Made clubs as they only come with 1 year warranty and made in China ;P

Best Opening Ceremony I’ve seen dating back to Montreal 1976.

opening ceremony was good, have to say our teams tracksuits looked like someone found an old surplus of “hypercolour” shirts. man they were awful. we looked so dero next to everyone else!

techno and entertaining I thought – a great all round best I’d say – have to agree about the commentary, it was crappy!
Political Correctness is doctrine fostered by a delusional
minority and by the media, which holds forth the proposition it
is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. |

Didn’t see it but one of the big things hitting the news about it here is that the kid that sang was miming. The real singer was ‘hidden’ cos she was fat and had bad teeth.

So whats the lesson? Better to be dumb and pretty with a voice that sounds like someone running their nails down a chalk board than to have crooked teeth! That would be a good angle for the dentists to take to increase business I think.
