what’s happened to the once ago Jap Phenom ??

I have been interested for some time now as to why Asian women virtually dominate (Ochoa excepted) the LPGA, while Asian men haven’t really broken through at all. KJ Choi is the only one that regularly threatens. The sheer numbers of Asian players must mean there is someone out there.

He hits it like a machine. Slight draw, slight draw, slight draw. About the same as me. Avg 270ish?

He hits it pretty long indeed…. he was hitting balls next to me at this years aussie amateur… Hits it really good.

Him and his mate were trying to hit 2 iron stingers at birds, 40m infront of the range.

Danny Lee made the top spot on the Scratchplayers ranking which in itself is harder. The R&A is a bit like the GA ranking system for Aussies – up the shit.

I agree however with the name change.

In addition to his long game, can you tell us anything about his short game. It says he is deathly. Just like to hear from guys who may have actually seen what makes him special.
So many people talk about how good these guys drive the ball, but without their fantastic short game, they wouldn’t make the grade.

I played in the Lake Macquarie Am early on the final day and followed Danny around in the afternoon.

The guy was hitting all his irons as sweet as.

I reckon it’s Danny iron play that’s his best aspect. He can hit it stiff all day from 150 yards.

BTW that’s not taking anything away from his driving.

I reckon thats the main difference for a hack like me(compared to these guys). I play off 5 and I hit average 65% of fairways, 1.90 putts for GIR, but am a dismal 50% GIR.
According to www.strokeaverage.com (statistics section) the stats are good enough for scratch marker except for that stat!!
I might give him a call and ask for some help ;)

his short game is great.
On a average day, hell cruise around and maybe sink 1 or 2 putts, and shoot an easy 2-3 under.

When he gets going, it’s lights out. Wedge game is demon like.

Last time i played with him, we played skins on Wairakei International blue tees.
Put it this way, he shot 61 (we werent keeping a card, so unofficially) and he gave me 6 shots, and still i owed him $20 :(.

He nearly holed every wedge shot 80m and under.
His putting isn’t that great, however, he still gets it going, and shoots low numbers that way.

He just has a repeatable swing, that is very solid, and hes just a pure and magnificent ball striker. It’s amazing to play with.

You don’t need to join to use their stats section. They have stats from world top 10 players right up to 95 shooters to compare against. Very in depth too if you want to go that far.
You only pay if you wanna use their site to input your stats. I use a great little program i bought about 10 years ago called GStat Pro and it has all of the stats facilities to compare on the strokeaverage site.
This means I only had to spend a once off cost of $25 instead of a yearly subscription of $60. Sounds like a winner to me!

i used to play off 12 n thats a hack
now even more of a hack at 20 !!
