Golf Science Centre in Melbourne: Review

Hey all I just wanted to let all Melbourne golfers know that there is a dedicated golf science centre opening in Sandringham.

One of ISG’s own Swing Gurus: Biomechanic is giving lessons out there.

I went out there last week and the technology and set up is awesome!! Launch monitors, K-Vests etc. Although the centre is not totally finished, Bio’s section is fully operational and worth every minute of the drive down there – I live west of the city, so it took me 45 minutes each way!

I can thoroughly recommend anyone wanting to improve their games to get down there and see Bio. I now plan on making the drive on a weekly basis!

Feel it, execute it, live with it.

Not far from the range so that’s a good location.

What’s a lesson cost? and what other services on offer? ie club fitting?

Whats a K-Vest ?

Does it have any demo clubs, different shafts to try, etc ?

Or is it just a teaching centre ?

K Vest is a ‘vest’ you wear and a sensor on your wrist too that shows you on the PC what you swing like. Pretty cool.

Does bio teach TGM?

he does.

45 minutes?

I’d drive a couple of hours to get access to this type of resource.

Agreed, its about an hour each way to see the Dart, I would still do it if it took double that.

1-L, it is all there my friend.

Hi Guys,
The golfscience centre is a centre based on science in eveyr area of the game,
My department is Swinglab, we are science based, we use biomechanics combines with T.G.M principles for mechanics, we use K-vest and other biomechanically technologies.
We also do physio, fitness, remedial massage for golf.
We use 3d video as well. We build golfing swings for the persons body type and physical limitations.
We have flight simulators
Using biomechanics we teach putting, chipping, pitching, hitting, swinging, short and long game , coarse management ,we can even give a playing lesson, we cover the mental game as well, any facet of the game we cover based on science. You name it I cover it.
Everything is backed with measured science, you can see in black and white, raw data of what is going on in your golf swing.
We can train any part of the body you like, even educated hands.
Using 3d animation we set up the perimeter for your swing and you train, if you in the correct position it’s lights up green and music plays, do it incorrect, animation goes red and music stops, so you get audio visual feedback, and you can see on the screen what you are doing is correct there’s no guess work

The other division I can not comment , this isn’t my place to make comment on their department, I don’t feel it’s right to broadcast for unpaid advertisement out of respect to people who do pay for this sight for advertisement.
I’m a biomechnist golf coach, I train P.G.A and golf coaches how to teach using biomechanics, which they don’t realise is based on T.G.M, at present I’m trying to educate Peter Croker,
I’m training Bryan Ferguson who is an absolute Gun Coach ,He taught me for 15years T.G.M, and with Darts help along the way, Give him 12 months and he will be one the best biomechanist/T.G.M coaches in the world.

Got a web site setup yet with costs, how to book, phone # etc?

Danz,
We will have a website up and running shortly but I’m not going to put prices up, lessons are usual price but the trining on the biomechanics is cheap, if I advertise price, I will attract the wrong people who are searching for cheap lessons, Which indicates to me there not prepared to learn , what I mean by this is they don’t want to pay for their education. This is a learning centre where you learn to play golf properly and take no short cuts, I want people who are prepared to work hard and are prepared to pay for their education. If your prepared to pay for your education, your willing to learn.

Hi Bio,

Is this centre open to all levels or just the low hcp?

Flush it, chunk it, flush it, chip it, hole it 5 a half!
Flush it, flush it, three putt the half!

Excuse my stupidity but what is TGM ?

TGM stands for The Golfing Machine. Its a book that was written by Homer Kelley.

Arigold,
The centre is designed for everyone, even beginners, It’s based on truth and science, The other guy who asked me to join his concept,
was on the same wave length as me and got feed up of the lies and
misconception of club making, club fitting, golf mechanics, so we decicded to both put our golf technology together creating a golfscience based on science and the truth.

Swinglab is base on biomechanics in golf, fitness and mental we cover
all facets of the game.
we are sick of no standardisation in teaching in the industry, everyone has some bull sh..t method and the poor students are confused.

so we created swinglab to teach the pure correct mechanics, biomechanically and technically , when a student comes in they know they get taught correctly, backed with measured science,
basically you can’t get bull sh..ted.

When I stand on a driving range and I need to carry a shovel, to clear a walkway from all the bullsh..t , I hear pupils getting taught, enough is enough so now the truth is getting told swinglab with T.G.M

Hi Bio,

Sorry to keep on with the questions.

I am happy with my coach and have progressed from 25 to 15.7 in 12 months. I am keen now to see how low I get get (or expect to get given physical, lifestyle and family constraints)

I am happy with my equipment at the moment. All has been fitted for me and quite new.

It is the physical and mental aspect I am most keen to look at.

Does this system work both ways? EG if I stay with my current coach but train with you guys etc.

Thanks

Bio,

Can you post the hours you are open.

I find it hard to get to lesson midweek during working hours but would be keen to explore after hours during the week.

Arigold,
I have no problem with working on these areas with you, your happy with your coach i’m ok with that,
Our official opening is in a week, alot of coaches have asked if it’s ok to bring their students in and I do some technical work for them and I’m happy to do this.
The way I see it is there the doctor(your coach ) and I’m the specialist.

You go to a doctor they refer you to a specialist, the specialist fixes you and you go back to the doctor,

Our hours are 9 am to 9pm, 7 days a week and if a student needs an early morning lesson or a later lesson, I’m happy to cater for them if requested.

For me this Centre isn’t about money, this about helping people to get better at a game we are all passionate about. I make the time to spend time with my students and play golf with them, I like to sit down have a coffee and chat after the lesson. All my students know they call me 24/7 if there having an issue.

By the time I die people will know they found a coach and friend who really does give a dam.

Sounds awesome, too bad im in sydney.
Good work on the centre, and good luck on the opening!
I’m sure it will be a smashing success!
