Did anybody else receive 300 messages to their personal mailbox this morning posted from “Jon” at GolfLink Mates telling of “important updates to GolfLink Mates”? Seemed like a genuine message, but why did it have to be posted 300 times? I am not a subscriber to GolfLink Mates, just got onto it from having been registered for the results service. But this is enough to make me not pay my 80 cents a week! Fortunately I use Mailwasher, so didn’t have to download them all.

Just checked my GL and no messages. Sounds like a computer blip. For what is worth, I cannot see any value in GL Mates.

At times all the emails comes down ten or more times each, my guess is a problem with my provider when this happens. Sounds like that is what happened with you.

Righto Publish, my mate asked if you could drop them a line or email the golflink helpdesk so that they can help get to the bottom of it, and he also said that it wasn’t on purpose and appologized for the inconvenience.

Reply received: “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that you have experienced. Unfortunately we experienced an unexpected technical problem on Thursday night which cause the sending of multiple emails to some of our users. We are not exactly sure why this occurred however we are working through the issue to ensure that it will not happen again.”
