Well done boys. I can’t wait for the day when there are tee times offered for a club near me.
Mr Consistency found his swing. |

Nice work guys and easy to use. Admin – so is this actual live data direct data from the Golf Clubs? If so – truly awesome stuff.
|

Very very awesome.
Reverse every natural instinct you have and do just the opposite of what you are inclined to do and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing. - BEN HOGAN, POWER GOLF |

Thanks guys – small steps as it’s a big change for the industry. PhantomX – yes it’s live data to within a second or two from the golf clubs. MrConsistency – many more coming onboard. We’re beta testing with a small amount of clubs as the technology is very new and we prefer to nip any glitches in the bud if possible. So far so good :) muntz – Thanks – much appreciated

Keep up the good work, Will watch developments with interest.
A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all.

Is Royal Melbourne coming online…would love to be able to book there online. Seriously, I assume there are Vic courses coming like The Dunes and 13th Beach?
down and out…did ya get that? |

Toolish: Yeh Victoria is coming online and RM uses the right software so may actually offer selected teetimes at some stage. Socks: Only a couple in that area so far. We’ve concentrated on the main population centres and tourist areas like the capital cities plus the Hunter Valley etc to begin with.

Good for larger clubs, still not feasible for smaller clubs because of the need for the Micropower modules which cost thousands of dollars either to purchase or lease. Out of our price range.

Doesn’t cost anywhere near that publish – your club should call MP and get some pricing. Teetimes can be installed as one module alone. Your club also needs to think how much staff time is taken up by writing down teetimes, taking phone calls all day long etc etc. A club that has 800 public rounds a week with let’s say 300 different flights calculated on 2-3 a group. That’s 300 phone calls which we’ll knock down to say 200 if some people are walk-ins. 200 calls a week at 3 mins a call is 10 hours on the phone. That’s 10 hours not spent teaching, selling in the proshop etc. We have clubs coming on soon that are very small eg 9 holes – they see the benefit in the savings rather than the cost. Plus of course ISG promotes you Australia-wide. Many courses are paying $500-$1000 in the local golf newspapers with no idea as to what they are getting back out of it. In the end, most reasonable sized clubs will have to be online – whether it be through us or a competitor – the public will expect it just as they do with hotels and airlines.

You say it’s big change for the industry but I’ve been buying tee times online from golf link for nearly 2 years. I even went and played some of the Melbourne Sandbelt courses last month.
|
|
:) It may seem that way form the outside….. You are buying a teetime that has to be uploaded by the club for you to buy. They have to sit at a computer, choose some times they want to put on golflink. Go to golflinks page, enter those teetimes – generally these teetimes are ones they can’t sell. If you do not buy it from golflink it goes unsold and the club loses out. It’s like comparing apples and oranges. Ours is a live view of the ENTIRE timesheet in the proshop via the software sitting on the computer in the proshop. Most clubs are very unhappy with golfink’s model as it’s only a stop gap to what everyone really wants which is a live link to the proshop which we provide. This is the first of it’s kind in Australia and one of only a handful in the world doing it live. Golflink are so far behind the 8-ball that they are over near the rack on the wall where they keep the cue sticks :)

On the contrary Publish. Our Public Tee Sheet Modules are extremely cost effective and can certainly cater for many of the smaller clubs. Toolish – would definitely love to have 13th Beach and The Dunes on board. From what I understand they are two of the more proactive clubs in the market. They are great courses and I am sure they would do very well with the our Tee Time System. I know ISG have worked well with both courses in the past. mmathews – we acknowledge you have been able to buy teetimes through Golf Link. However as admin. pointed out above, the significant difference between what Micropower/ISG are offering the industry is the ability for clubs to integrate their entire time sheets in real time via a Australia’s #1 Golf Website. Simply put, using the Golf Link model means that clubs have to manage two systems. (there own and Golf Links) This is what is frustrating many of the clubs that use Golf Link.

|
How about you send me a pricing structure for the Public Tee Sheet Module? You should have my name and email on your database, but if not it’s: tgc at vic dot chariot dot net dot au Your pricing on the Membership and Competitions modules to take us from Tier 1 to Tier 3 came out at about $25 per member in the first year. Unfortunately some profitable small clubs still run on the smell of an oily rag. Admin: Talk of saving time in the pro shop is meaningless when you don’t have one. “Staff” is also a meaningless concept for a lot of volunteer-based country clubs.

Okay – guess I was judging by your website that you were a reasonably sized club.

The website is just a result of Publish being a good club man…

Don’t know whether that’s a compliment or a backhanded slap. We are a club that keeps our head above water by providing a product in a tourist area 100km from Melbourne that suits a lot of club and social golfers. We undertake a lot of budget marketing that is quite successful, and the entire club (outside greenkeeping and catering) is run by volunteers. We have 300 members paying $315 per year each, and get around 6000 green-fee rounds @ $20. You do the maths. Quite simply, a couple of thousand dollars per year to run a tee-time system is a major cost. You can write us off as a proposition if you wish, but the reality is that about half the golf clubs in Australia are smaller than Trentham.

Nice work Publish – I am sure it is a compliment. I will have someone contact you re Time Sheets for your club. I am sure we can accommodate you some how.

Whoa there publish – it was actually a compliment. We’re not writing anyone off – I just saw the website and thought you guys were a huge club as the website is very well done. MP will contact you – thanks for your feedback.
