This topic is purely for posting changes to existing ISG Tipping entries.

(i) You can only drop one player from your list in between eligible ISG Tipping Championship tournaments.

(ii) You cannot make changes while any tournaments are in progress.

(iii) You must always have at least one player from Australia, the USA and the Rest of the World in your 4 chosen players

(iv) The sum of your players’ World Golf Rankings points must be no higher than 10.00 after your changes are made – based on current world golf rankings.

(v) Please post your changes in this format:

Just a note that the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic will not be a scoring event in the ISG PGA Tipping.

These players from the Sony are not playing the Bob Hope:
Ames, Baddeley, Cabrera, Choi, Funk, Furyk, Holmes, Howell, Zach Johnson, Lonard, Maryuma, Sabbatini, Singh, Snedeker, Stricker.

I expect the next eligible event will be the Buick Invitational.

So, we obviously don’t have to worry about changing our players for this week then? Woo hoo. I stressed enough about the last tournament.

Question: we are only supposed to change one player between events inluded in the tipping competition yes? and if we are disqualified before an eligible event, can we post a new squad?

Note;

I have deleted my last lot of changes,
1. They don’t count for the Bob Hope
2. I didn’t read the rules properly and changed more than one player.

You can only change one player between events.

When someone lodges an entry, those players are retained even if they DQ. Anyone can be DQed for an individual tournament during the year if they don’t have three scoring players in the field, but that doesn’t mean their whole entry becomes null and void. Just means they aren’t in the running for money from that tournament.

But I’m going to allow a bit of leeway to DQs from the first tournament, given we have only just teed off. Some entrants seem to have forgotten to check that their selections are regulars on the US PGA Tour, and have selected players on the Euro tour, for instance. Don’t want to be a tipping Nazi…

The Official World Golf Rankings have been updated, so changes to entries are now open. The Top 200 rankings each week are available as a PDF download from the archive section at World Golf Rankings.

Remember that only one change can be made to your list in between eligible events. i.e. between the Sony and Buick.

Justin Leonard (USA) 1.64
Richard Green (AUS) 2.48
Total 9.9

gcswinger1 – in deference to the many ISG tipsters that have sweated on their entries for hours, I’m going to have to rule out this entry for breach of the points cap:

As at Jan 16 (when you entered) your player points were as follows:
Chopra 1.95 Johnson 3.95 Leonard 1.64 Green 2.48
Total = 10.02 (Arrrrgh, so close…)

At the moment the totals are:
Chopra 1.94 Johnson 3.87 Leonard 1.99 Green 2.50
Total = 10.30 (Even worse…)

However, I’m actually doing you a favour tearing up your entry as Richard Green is playing on the Euro tour, and Johnson and Chopra aren’t playing in the Buick.

Please submit your entry in at the entries thread.

A quick word of warning to existing tippers.

Despite the Buick being a big event – with a bunch of big name (?) players getting on board this week (Appleby, Badds, Choi, Clark, Holmes, Howell, Immelman, Mahan, Mickelson, O’Hern, Ogilvy, Sabbatini, Singh, Snedeker, Villegas, Woods) – some players selected for the Sony are no shows this weekend:

AU: Richard Green (Euro tour), Euan Walters, David Lutterus
US: Zach Johnson, Heath Slocum, Fred Funk, Steve Flesch, Steve Stricker, Paul Goydos, Scott Verplank, Jonathan Byrd
RoW: Daniel Chopra, Luke Donald, Retief Goosen, Mikko Illonen

Ouch. Remember only one change between eligible events, but if anyone drafted someone last week who is not playing in the Buick, I’ll let you edit that change.

Best not to make changes until you see the upcoming tournament lists.

Mahan USA 2.60

Lonard AUS 1.37
Choi ROW 4.96

Total 9.82

Dougie1 - as our 2008 Sony Open champion and current money list leader…. I have bad new for you.

When you change your squad you have to use current valuations for your players, not the previous ones. This helps keep the leaders from continually strengthening their selections.

As at Jan 20th:
Lonard 1.96 Mahan 2.72 Choi 5.81 Na 1.11 = 11.60 !!!!

So if you want to drop Flesch, you have only 1.12 points to spend on a replacement. That said, I’m sure you can find some value out there based on the last few tournaments as a guide.

Stephen Ames (CAN) 3.02
Paul Goydos (USA) 1.37

Total points Average: 7.32

Andre_W – amazing that you can stay so far under the points cap – and you’ve picked up $126,300 in the Sony – can your cheapies salute at the Buick? Unfortunately Paul Goydos is not on the initial entry list for the weekend, so you only have 3 players to post scores.

Dougie 1 is in bigger trouble than that – even with taking Flesch out, the combined ranking of Lonard 1.96 – Choi 5.81& Mahan 2.72
= 10.49. Even with three he will still be over the 10.00 and only has one drop option.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish.....

I know, I was surprised to learn that Johnson is not playing in the Buick. So I had to drop one or the other.

I am saving up points to drop Goydos and bring in a ringer… ;)

Taking Flesch out leaves him with Lonard Choi Na = 8.88… hence he has 1.12 to spend on a replacement for Flesch.
